Getting frustrated.. Ins issue?

Our insurance company said that they would cover my WLS as long as I had proof of my Morbid obesity and also my co morbidities.. I never did get it in writing, which is fine I've not been denied yet. The problem is I was told everything was sent to insurance on the 18th. I called last Friday the 22nd and the insurance company swears they haven't  received anything at all. So I called and left a message with the insurance gal with my doc's group and she was out of the office all day Friday. Anyways I haven't heard anything back from anyone and I don't know what to do. I don't wanna just sit around and wait while the insurance company drags their feet and I hear that bugging them can work to my advantage, but I don't wanna be that big of a pain in the rear.  Any suggestions? Am I better off to just play the waiting game or do I call everyone again or what ?

KEEP CALLLINNGG!!!! If you dont "bug them then it isnt fresh in their minds:)- I would also try to keep in contact with your clinic and ask them if next time they can send the letters certified..thats how mine did it and we got confirmation with a signature that way. Also keep in mind that if it was sent per mail it usually takes 2-3 business days for the mail to run...if sent by fax it may be in a pile and the director is going through it:) Keep your chin up...I am in the exact same place you are...the waiting game...except I have already been denied once sooo you are close but just breath and call everyday!!! I heard from the Carmel surgical folks today and she said to call them again today sometimes it doesn't get scanned into the system right away and that I should re call them. She did fax them and said she called them and verified the fax number with them before faxing them. Told me to call and bug em basically hehe.

What insurance do u have? and how long have you been waiting for approval?  I have been waiting 2 weeks....should I be calling and finding out if they have my paperwork?

Hi Misty, Keep calling.  I had to have my stuff faxed at least twice (there may have been a third one, but I can't remember).  I'm not sure if stuff gets misplaced that often or if the insurance wants to make sure you want it bad enough to keep bugging them.  Either way, KEEP CALLING!  You are worth the effort.

Ugh it lost my post.. Anyways I have BCBSCA and have been told to keep calling them to follow up. This was my first submission of paperwork to gain approval and it was on the 18th. Anyways I called today and they are still saying they don't have anything at all. So I called and left a message again for the insurance gal at the docs office! This is really frustrating. She said they should definately have had it by now! Sooo I guess it'll have to be sent again or something.
