Well, for about a week now I have been having pains in my right side. I finally broke down and called Dr. Mattar on Wendesday, and went and saw him this morning. He wants to do a exploratory surgery to rule out kbs, or something else. Has anyone ever had this done? What should I expect? Any help would be greatly appriceated.  Thanks,  S.

Scott,

Sorry to hear you're not doing so well.  Hopefully it's nothing too serious and Dr. Mattar will have you feeling great again.  Take care, my friend.  Hope to see you soon.

Scott, Where at on the right side??? I had to have my gall bladder out in 2002. Pain: Right side, under right breast. Pain went through to back. Removed lap (like my RNY). 1 drain tube for ~ a week. Off of work 6 weeks. It didn't matter what I ate or drank, it hurt 24/7 because I had stones stuck in the in and out ports. I had KBS in 2004 (almost a year to the day from my RNY). I had 3 hernias plus blockage so I had pain in multiple places. On my right side, the pain was down about mid-stomach and about 4-6" from center. The pain was like a charlie horse...but in my stomach. My pain usually came in the middle of the night. Corrected through lap. Off of work ~4 weeks. Ulcers: I've had 3, all in 2003-2004. This pain was about 3" aove my belly button and off to the right. After I would eat, the pain would go away. It was like it did not like my pouch to be empty at all. Ulcer confirmed with an endoscopy each time. Meds corrected problem. Sherri

Scott, I'm with Sherri, do you have your gallbladder? Has it been ruled out? I had excruciating pain in my back & right side when I had stones trapped- just wondering. Whatever it is, I wish you all the best! Feel better quick!!! I'm thinking & praying for you. (((hugs))) Ellen
