Hey fellow hoosiers! I am very new to all of this. I have gone to the information seminar and just received my Dr's letter of medical necessity. I have found out that my employer has opted not to cover anything weight loss related. So I am prepared to fight for it. However my husband is thinking of a job change which means starting all over, plus waiting the 90 days before insurance kicks in. I guess I am glad I haven't gotten further in the process with the insurance just to start all over.  I live in fort wayne with my husband and stay at home with my 4 children. I am enjoying reading everything that people are going through. I like having the good and bad information. That way I know what to expect. Thanks so much. I look forward to getting to know everyone. Welcome Lyn.  It isn't an easy task going thru all the hoops to get approved but it is well worth it.  I was prepared to take the mony out of a retirement account it the insurance didn't come thru. (After all what good would retirement money do me it i fidn't live long enough to use it)  I live north of Waterloo so we are almost neighbors.  Where are you looking to have your surgey done?  St V has a support group that meets in Ft. Wayne the 2nd tuesday of each month if you are going thru there. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress!   Jan

Hello Lyn and welcome aboard.  I also am from Fort Wayne and would encourage you like Jan did to join us at the support group meeting on the 2nd Tuesday each month.   Again Good luck and don't give up the fight,  It took me 2 appeals and a threat to involve the Dept of Insurance to get approval.

Thank you for all your words of encouragement. I went to the information meeting at Lutheran Hosp with Dr. Slone. Has anyone worked with him or heard anything about him? Lyn
