Hi EVERYONE, Just wanted to pop in and say hello. I have been having OH withdrawls! I am doing ok, I have went and saw Gail and she is doing well also! I am hoping to visit her at home in the next couple of days. I was with her on her surgery day and visited her another day after my PS visit! I finally had my drain removed last Thursday!!!! Boy was I HAPPY about that! Surgery was May 8th, so that was quite a bit to have the drain! I still have not been cleared to return to work- however my employer has already let me go, says that I have had too much happen and he needs someone more committed- WHATEVER!!!! I am going on, how, well that is hard sometimes, I wonder! I still have 4 small areas that are seaping and am being checked at the PS office 2 times weekly to make sure that infection is not setting in and or staying, I have been given a second antibiotic. My PS has said that although she did not want to see this, that it is not necessarily uncommon- due to the fact that my incision was over 3 feet long and had 16lbs total removed, so we are keeping an eye on it and hoping for the best!!!! We went today and picked out countertop and cabinets for the kitchen. We are still moving at a slow pace but are moving forward, at least! I want to THANK everyone for all of their help and support through all of this- this has been a hectic part of my journey, but I am hanging in there and my family and I are very grateful to ALL of you have helped in ANY way! I hope to continue to be online, we have had some issues with the internet/computer BUT are hoping that they have been resolved. We should know in the next few days! I hope everyone is doing well on their journeys! I have missed you all! Hugz DAWN

Hi Bonnie, It is great to be back on here posting, I swear I was having OH withdrawls! The waiting for the home to be rebuilt and all is so tolling but we are making it. We have started the picking out new things process and although in reality that sounds fun, it is hard too at times! I am sure that when it is all said and done and we are able to be back home it will feel so much better. Until then, we are waiting for the days!!!! It was definately great to get the drain out, I was beginning to think that it was a permanent fixture!! LOL!! I am doing well for the most part, still experiencing swelling which is normal, but also have been fighting off some infection along the incision line which has me having some extra openings. We are keeping an eye on it though. I have been going to the PS office at least once sometimes twice a week. Waiting for clearance to hopefully swim sometime this summer- that is the new goal, for now! LOL I hope that your journey is going well for ya. How did your litlle outing go? Tubing sounds so fun, but I am afraid of water over my head, so when it came time to participate I would probably chicken out- BUT it sounds like a great time! Hope you had a BLAST!! Hugz Dawn

Hey Sherri, I am so happy to be back on here- I was having withdrawls!!!! I hope that Ellen is having a wonderful time, although I know that it had to be hard leaving behind the family. They will be able to vacation together though and still make family memories, but being apart is hard!!! Sounds like you and Bill are having a blast this summer or on your way anyway!!! How fun, I can only hope to be able to do half of that someday!!!! Have you ever visited The BEACH WATERPARK it is one exit away from Kings Island, it is so much fun, look up the site on line, it is clean, inexpensive and so much fun. They have a vast variety for all ages so you could enjoy it by yourselves or if you took Chance!!!! They have great pass prices for the season too, we bought season passes last year and it last for the rest of the year that you purchased plus till December of the following year- I know DECEMBER but they have things year round, Christmas lights and ice skating and Halloween time they do a haunted set up, check it out, ok!!! How is your therapy going? Where do things stand in your PS process? Hope to hear from ya soon, tell Ellen I said hello and happy traveling!!! Hugz Dawn

Hi Vicki- You are doing so well on your journey, look at all those lost pounds!!!! Great job!!! I hope that you are enjoying your journey, it  is such an amazing journey we have taken part in, and it is so nice when everyone is able to enjoy their new lives!!! Thanks for the tip on Jim, I am hoping it was just the loaner computer that we had been issued, it had a lot of viruses and things and we could not keep online. It was constantly crashing and blocking me so that was very frustrating but so far it is looking like I am having better luck-YYIIPPEE!! Great to have the drain out, now if all of my incision line would close and heal properly I would be set! I am so ready to hit the water, my son is too! Hopefully this summer, but it is taking its time!!! I do feel much better though! I still have some swelling but I cannot believe the difference that having 16 lbs of skin removed has made! It is such a different feeling not having all of the panni there! Hope all is well with you and your journey! Hope to hear from/ see ya soon! Hugz Dawn

Hi Marianne, You will be so BEAUTIFUL after all of that- YOU already are, SSSSOOOO!!!!! Yep, I still have swelling, they have said that could last for up to 6 months or so- it gets worse as the day goes on, so by evening I am swollen, but it isn't too bad this far out! I did buy some of the flexee garments fom Kohls, which is the brand that the PS suggested, they were helpful and much more comfortable than the other brands that I had already purchased. You might try those, they seem to be on sale quite a bit at Kohls too! It was so nice to have the drain tube taken out. I never really had much pain from the panni incision but the hernia repair definately knew that it had taken place!!! I saw your post about purchasing comfortable clothing, I still am wearing comfort clothing- I can wear jeans with buttons and zippers but it definately can become uncomfortable as the day progresses! I went into surgery a size 20 mainly, some 18's but not very many- and I can wear 16 now. I still think that in the full length mirror- I look pretty weird or freakish as I told the PS, but she reassures me that I am still experiencing swelling and that this is normal and that all looks good!

You will be so happy with your results I am sure!If you have any questions please feel free to ask me, I will try ro help, if I can!

Good luck on your upcoming PS!!!!

Hugz Dawn

Wow Dawn you are doing great! I will be thrilled I am sure! Just to have the skin gone and the breast back in the region where they used to be:o)  Carmen said it is sore where they lipo and do the muscle tightening so I am prepared for that. As I  will have more fatty deposits thatn Carmen I asssume I will get more lipo pain. LOL  I am not looking to really go down much in size but any that I do is good by me!

hope the new house is coming along well!

Hugs!

Marianne
