I WOULD THINK TRACEY THAT ITS THE SAME ALL THE TIME 60 TO 100 OZ A DAY JUST TO KEEP HYDRATED. THAT WOULD INCLUDE ANY PROTAIN DRINKS YOU DRINK AS WELL. AND CONGRATS ON YOUR LOSS. I CANT WAIT TO BE 9 MONTHS OUT. RIGHT NOW I AM ALMOST 2 MONTHS. SO HERES TO US FOR BEING HOOSIER LOSERS.. VICKI

Tracey, The daily recommended amount of water for anyone (regardless if they had weight loss surgery or not) is a MINIMUM of 64 oz. I'm sure you've heard the mantra of drinking Eight 8oz glasses. For me personally, 64 oz just doesn't cut it. I normally drink 100-120 oz. Is it all "water"? No, not ALL...but most...and what isn't, does count as water. So..what counts as water? If it is sugar-free, low cal, AND decaffinated, it's technically "water". This would include (but not limited to): water, crystal light (or other sugar-free mix), Fruit2O (or other sugar-free flavored water), sugar-free popcycles, decaffinated coffee & teas. If you are taking in any caffiene, that DOES NOT count as water. In fact, if you drink caffiene, you need to drink twice that volume of "water" in addition to the 64 oz! So...gotta have that 12 oz can of sugar-free pepsi? If you don't make it a decaf one, then you need to drink 24 oz of water plus the 64 oz for a total of 88oz just to stay hydrated! Whew! Ask for decaf! As to measuring your protein (and everything else), you may want to check out www.sparkpeople.com. It's pretty comprehensive for every aspect of your weight-loss journey. If you eat something and can't find it in their listing, check at www.fitday.com and see if they have it there. With both programs, you can enter your own stuff in there (just check your food labels). Congrats on the excellent weight loss so far. A true 'platau' doesn't occur until you are at a standstill for a minimum of 6 weeks. At 9 months out, your body is probably just catching it's breath. Continue to measure yourself (which you can track on sparkpeople also!) and I'm sure you'll see a change there! If there's anything else that we can help you with, feel free to let us know. Welcome to the board! Sherri ps...For those experiencing a true platau, try increasing one or more of: Protein...Exercise...Water (remember: PEW). Also, try doing something different with exercise. Your body gets in a rut and needs change now & then. So if you normally walk, dance! If you normally do the treadmill, Swim!  Use some different muscles and your body will thank you for it!
