Hello - New to the forum and awaiting surgery in Elkhart.

Hi everyone..  My name is Jackie and I live in Elkhart and my schedule date is July 10.  I have been on a pre-op diet of Protein shakes and bars 3x per day since Monday.   Right now, things are going pretty smoothly..  I don't get hungry (which was my biggest fear!) but I do have headaches on and off all day long and sometimes I get really tired.   But other then that.. I am doing fine..  I look forward to my surgery and wish I could speed up the calendar some!   I hope to be an active member of this forum and I hope to find other local people that have (or are going  to have) the same thing I am.  If I can contribribute in helping others, I will surely try my best to do so. Jackie, Welcome to the Indiana forum.  We just moved to Indiana in October and have found the people in this forum to be the best source of friendship.  They are all wonderful people and friends.  June 30th we are having a pool party.  See the previous posts.  Hope you can make it.  July 10th will be here before you know it.  Good luck and keep posting.  Floyd

Good Morning Jackie! Welcome to the forum!  This is a wonderful group of people and they will go out of their way to help whenever possible!  You will see it said over and over because everyone truely means it when they say please just ask if you have ??'s or if  you just need to rant.   I have never seen so many cheerleaders! They will be your biggest fans and will help you get thru this journey SUCCESSFULLY!  On July 10 we will all be thinking of you and sending positive thoughts your way!   Hugs and Welcome!  Andrea

Jackie, Welcome to the board and welcome to OH!  You should find that your headaches will improve...as will your case of sleepies...as soon as your body gets through it's caffiene withdrawal. Hmmm...esp? No. Most of us were pop-aholics pre-op. Oh sure...we would drink 'diet' what-ever...but decaf???  No way! So...we had to get ourselves off of the lead too. Pop not your thing? Coffee? Tea? Chocolate? All big hitters with caffiene. It does get better!! Besides, can't have the caffiene post-op anyway (caffiene is a stimulant..which would make you hungry, dehydrates you, and it can cause ulcers in your new pouch). So..just have faith that as soon as it's all out of your system, you'll feel alot better. You're on a pretty rigid pre-op diet. Whew! Glad I didn't have to do that. Anyway, feel free to ask ???, add comments, post about what-ever....we aren't a strictly 'weight loss related only' board here. We also don't bother adding 'OT' to our off topic posts. Shoot, there'd me more off's than on's alot of days!  There is a wealth of information on ObesityHelp and SOOOO much experience here no matter where you are in your journey...and trust me, we don't mind sharing it...lol! Welcome Jackie to OH and theIndiana forum. I'm a pre-op, but have found alot of support here and new friends too. We are here to help and learn too. Congradulations on your date. Did you check under the heading support groups to see if there is any near Elkhart? It's up at the top of the page near where we log-in. hugs friend..
