Update on Gail and I

I went to the dr today and got steriod shot and he started me on antibiotics for the cellultitus thats forming on my knee and elbow areas. 

Now the important news:  Gail left a message on my machine today that she finally went and got a second opinion today with a Dr. Huse and he wants to do surgery on her first thing in the morning.  He wants to repair her hernia and remove the band that her dr put in.  She asked that I post and tell you all and that I ask for everyones prayers.  She also said she loves you all and cant wait to get healthy so she can spend time online talking to everyone again. Please keep her in your prayers tomorrow. Pamela

Prayers for the cellulitis.. Hubby had it both legs fron the knees down was the worse. His right leg is still more swollen than the left..

As for Gail.. poor thing... if he removes the band what are the plans???

She had a banded RNY so I'm assuming Dr Huse will just take the band off and leave the RNY... I'm glad that she's finally going to get some relief....

I just spoke with Gails daughter for a min, becouse they were just then moving Gail back to her room.  Shes doing fine and she is at St.V's.   I will call her tomorrow when shes feeling better to talk to her. Pamela

Pamela let her know we are all thinking about her.  I know how you feel with the poison Ivy.  It is wretched stuff.  Have you tried any of the Aveeno or oatmeal baths.  They did seam to help me when I had it bad the last time.  I don't know how it would affect the cellulitis but Chlorine (swimming pool) used to dry mine up faster when I was young (waaaaay back a long time a go)  I hope to see you at Tania's party.

Pamela, I haven't caught the whole story but tell Gail we are thinking of her and I KNOW exactly what she is going through.  I had the banded RNY in April 2006 and in September 2006 they had to go back in and remove the band.  Scar tissue had attached itself to the band and closed off my pouch completely.  I hadn't eaten in a week and for 2 days couldn't even drink water.  Since the band was removed I have not had a minute of trouble.  I still have the RNY and have been just as successful as Floyd who still has his band. I hope you are feeling better soon too.   This heat can't be helping.  Hope to see you at the pool party.

Brenda, Thanks for the responce.  I'll be sure and pass along your experience to Gail.  I know shes had problems since the day she had surgery.  Ive wanted her for months and months to get a second opinion but I guess when she was at the Baratric center they suggested it and set it up for her....so thank god she went and is finally getting the help she needed.  Im sure glad to know u have done so well once the band was removed. I look forward to seeing your again.  Im sure hoping this rash is gone so I wont feel so I can get in the pool.  I wont even wear shorts now becouse this looks so bad.   Dr called me back today and is sending me to a dermatologist this week.  Seems he doesnt think there is any more he can do for me...  just what I wanted to hear....LOL Thanks to everyone else that responed.  I'll be sure and pass all the well wishes on to Gail.  I also had my 11 month anniversery today so I took my measurements and updated my profile...just didnt take new pics today.  I'll try and do that tomorrow when Im dressed for my interview.
