New Does anyone have experience with Dr. Frantzides?

Hi, I am considering WLS and went to meet with Dr. Frantzides and his fellow Dr. Ruff.  I didn't like the latter, however Dr. F seemed to be nice enough.  There are several reviews for him that are positive, however just checking if anyone has experience.  He really seemed to push the RNY as that was what he does most.

I am not familiar with Dr. Frantzides, but you were right in meeting with him and Dr. Ruff. If you aren't sure about him, you can try someone else. It has to be a good fit.

I do not know of anyone that is active on the IL board at this time that went with Dr F. There was a lady by the name of Mary but I have not seen her here for a long time.

Good to "see" you Mary and know you are still with us.

How are you doing?

I have gained about 30 lbs. and as you remember, never got down to goal.  Time to get back on the program and try to exercise.  I broke my ankle in March and tore the PCL in my knee which has made things difficult but I MUST get back on track or it will be for nought.

Glad to hear from you.  I am with you on the regain as well as the never making goal. I have been visiting the site just not posting.  The past year has been a blur, between family members hospitalizations and work, I don't know where the time has gone.  I have had knee injuiries as well which stop the movement and we know what that does :-(

I hope your leg is on the mend. I may not get to post often, but I think of everyone.  Has anyone heard from or about Lucy at all?

NO word from Lucy in AGES.  She originally had RNY, then a band over it that she had lots of trouble with and finally revised to DS.  If you're lurking Lucy.......stop by and tell us what's up!

Dr. Frantzides was my surgeon.  I do not know Dr. Ruff as that doctor was not with him when my procedure was done.  What questions and concerns do you have that were not addressed in your meeting with Dr. Frantzides?

I was just wondering of you were happy with him? Did he provide aftercare for you and did you feel like they supported you after the surgery? Did you lose the weight keep it off? Did you have rny? Any complications. Just looking for feedback on the surgeon and wondering of you recommend him?

Hi I'm new to the board.   I actually just had a talk with the lead physician at the office here I work.  I asked him about Dr. Frantzides and his opinions.  He stated that his first choice would be Dr. Denham or Dr. Ujiki.  Dr. Ujiki is fairly new though.  I've heard great things about him as well.  I'm leaning towards Denham myself. Good luck!
