Wednesday Roll Call
Hi, we are staying until this morning at Riverwalk hotel. It is a ma 'n pa little hotel with an inside pool, access to a small outdoor pool across the street at another motel and has a deck overlooking the water. It is the only hotel that has a waterfront view of the Upper Dells, this afternoon we go to Chula Vista for an annual weekend that we participate in with the Telephone Pioneers. My folks retired up here and I have been coming here since the early '60's. I am just now looking out over the water and watching the ducks swim in the fog and can see the fish flopping on the surface.
As to food places we have our favorites and they are where the locals hang out. Far better food and they know us and do not look at us weird when we share a sammie or full meal because they know about our surgeries. We are not fond of Moosejaw, though we like Buffalo Phils (out by the Tanger Mall) which is owned by the same person. There are 110 restaurants in the Dells/Delton area. We try to avoid chains when we can. I will go into Mickey D's usually for coffee only and I have to be driving past it. The Polynesian was where the water parks were invented. The man who owned the hotel wanted to extend the season so he brought the outside pool slides into the inside pool and the rest is history. I think that occurred i***** I pretty much know the Dells/Delton area like the back of my hand.
WOOHOO Lake Delton has water again and was dedicated one year to the day that it drained, June 9th.
