CONSULT TODAY !!!!
Well…I meet my handsome surgeon Dr. Guske today at 2:45 at the KaneCenter, and I am VERY excited! I have to share it with someone, and I can’t think of better people to share it with! It’s my first surgical consult. I know I have to do a 6 month supervised diet per my lovely insurance company, but at least they’re covering it, right? I have quite a few questions written down, although I must admit that most of them have been answered here! I look forward to getting to know all you guys as I make my way through this crazy trip. I have never been more at peace with a decision in my ENTIRE life, and I thank you all for the plethora of information you have supplied me with thus far!! Laura

You're very welcome.. Support is what this is all about. I know I couldnt have gotten through most of it with out the support here. And of course the INCREDIBLE staff over at the Kane Center... So By now you would have met with Guske... I know how you'll feel about him we all feel the same way. Great Choice.. RIGHT??

Congrats on the surgical appointment! As far as the 6 month diet, a tip that I wish I had had was, make sure the doctor records your weight, exercise attempts, and what you ate at EACH visit. Each visit must be made in each calendar month. I made up a chart for my Doctor. The reason I am telling you this is I had to do my 6 month diet twice because my doctor did not enter everything in my chart and refused to go back and add it to my chart.

Congats on the 1st step to the rest of ur life......Yay you'll look back on this soon and think of how fast it went by ...I can't tell u what to expect from your appointment stand point as I dont have the same doctor , but I can tell u put on ur self belt and get ready for a ride...It begains today with this appointment ..Dont give up , this part is by far the shortest ...The 6 mths will fly by ..See u soon on the other side.....LOL..
Hey Laura, what did I tell you about Dr.Guske??? He is great and with me,being only 6 1/2 weeks out from my surgery, I am down over 42 pounds and don't regret a thing about WLS.
Everybody has their ups and downs after surgery but it is so much better than the alternative of not taking the risk. Every patient is different in their response to surgery but remember the key: WLS is only a tool and you can use it to your advantage.
