Thursday Roll Call
Good morning Illinois-
It has been a while since I have posted. I have been working alot of hours and keeping up with my kids activities! Plus to be honest I do not go on the computer alot at home anymore! I am out and about or doing something around the house!
I am three months out from surgery, have had some ups and down but I would not change a thing! I am so happy with my results! Check out my blog for more recent pics! I am currently down 54.5 pounds and am so happy with all the changes.
I am loving the warmer weather! My friend and I started walking a couple weeks ago, we walk over 4 miles about four times a week!
My kids last day of school is Friday! They cannot wait and neither can I! So much to do this summer, and I am excited about it!
I hope everyone is doing well and has a wonderful Thursday! I will keep in touch more often I promise!

Well I'm thankful the week is almost over.
I found out a couple of days ago I had hernia surgery, along with my WLS. I know this is common but I thought I would have been told. I received a letter from my insurance questioning me on my hernia surgery. I was confused??? I called the surgeon's office and it turns out I did have a hernia repair.
Well my daughter is enjoyig herself. I will have pictures soon. I nagged at her the other day and she said she would send me some soon. She sadi it's very pretty.
Well I better get going. I have to leave for work now.
I went back to work and that keeps me very busy and tried, but love it, I do try to read every day,
for me today work.I am off tomorrow but work the weekend, Sat, is My birthday and we are going out to dinner, Mexican of course,
Well that is about all going on in my world Hope everyone has a great day,
Hugs to all.
Janet
Success begins with wise choices I make,I will not let noncompliance be my mistake, The surgery I had was to assist me in changes. My compliance is for a success long range, So I will think before I decide to cheat. Remember the goals I want to meet. For this surgery is not something I was force to do It was what I wanted for a healthy life!
I am counting the days until my kid is out of school. We also have so much fun stuff on our summer "to do" lists! The kids made their wish lists the other day and I think we're going to be super-busy at the beach, museums, hiking, etc. Hurray!
I had a sugar-aholic day yesterday: a Snickers bar, two Reeses cups, Swedish fish, a piece of chocolate cake, and ice cream. I curse my Aunt Flo (sorry, guys!). And yet I still dropped a pound! Today is an all-protein day, I swear! LOL
Have a good day!
Nicolle
I had the kick-butt duodenal switch (DS)!
HW: 344 lbs CW: 150 lbs
Type 2 diabetes and sleep apnea GONE!
Great to see you posting again Jen. Drop by when you get a chance. Hopefully more often, but we understand being busy.
I am with Crystal, I am glad this week is almost over. I think it keeps getting worse every day. I am dreading to see what is going to happen today and tomorrow.
Yesterday, I was told I get a new supervisor as one of the sup's is going on leave. I really like my sup. I have had my new sup before, am fine about her, but will miss my current one. I have worked at this place for 3 years and this will be my 5th supervisor change and my 4th move. No time to get comfortable. So much for decorating my cube. It all has to come down.
The saga of the eye continues. I got a call last night from the doctors office and now he is concerned that I am on blood thinners so it may not happen today. GRRRRRRR!!!!!

I teach on Saturday so will have something different to do on the weekend. Hope everyone has a great day!

Jen, its nice to see you again.
Nancy, I hope everything works out for you today.
Nicole, I remember those lazy days of summer with the kids.
Janet, have a super work day, same to Crystal.
This is my first day of summer vacation. It will be short, since i return to work on July 6.I do have some ideas of what I want to do this month. Now if they get done! I am looking forward to our Alaskan cruise this month. We have been planning it for over a year, and I can't believe its almost here.
Today I want to switch some selves in my rec room around. Plus clean house. The usual stuff. No other plans.
Whats happening in your world?
Stay dry, stay safe.
Hugs,
LISA
Good morning Jen (good to see you again) and the rest of Illinois!
I wish I had time off to spend with my kids over the summer, but work, work, work for me and them. We are making the arrangements for David to be an Apprentice Counselor at camp again this year. He really enjoyed it the last time he did it. He learns a lot and gets to "beef up" his resume. Although it is a volunteer position, it is a very good thing for him to be doing. Hopefully, he can find something part time for evenings and weekends to make some extra $$$$$.
Liv will be volunteering at the museum when she is not at theater camp or Girl Scout Camp. So....I've pretty much got them squared away. All we have to do now is decide when we will take time together as a family to do some fun things. I'm thinking of taking long weekends.
Liv got awards in both Science and Social Studies yesterday and David was recognized for Perfect Attendance and being on the Scholastic Bowl Team. They really are pretty good kids, even when they are driving me crazy.......gotta love 'em!
I am working today and fasting to have blood labs drawn later this afternoon. That is OK because my stomach/pouch is still a bit picky and sore since the other night. Water and black decaf for me is all today.
Congratulations to Connie on her new retirement. I hope she enjoys it!
That's about it for me today.
I wish you all the best of the best!
Here's how the retirement goes. I will retire from teaching which is 70% of my job on June 30th. However, classes are over and this would be my busiest time preparing for August. So all I have to do now is meet with my replacements occasionally and see my patients. This state of IL requires 60 days off after retirement so I will take July and August off and start again in Sept to see my patients. What I plan to do is work early and late each day Mon-Thurs and take off from 11-3 each day so I can knit with my friends. We'll see how that goes and what I'm thinking is that I could do this for a number of years more. I just don't want to go to meetings, teach, be on committees, etc. I want a bit (well, a lot) less responsibility.
So I am officially retiring, but not exactly.
