Wednesday Roll Call

 Happy Hump Day!

We are halfway through this week!  Yeah!  

I don't know about anyone else but we had real downpours here yesterday.  I heard that we had around 3 - 4 inches of rain yesterday.  Quack, Quack.  

No special plans for today.  Just work and home.  

My eye appointment was a disappointment yesterday.  I was pretty mad when I left the doctor yesterday.  He would not open the stye yesterday.  I had to make another appointment to have it done.  Needless to say, I am now going to be shopping for a new ophthalmologist.  I will be talking to my regular ophthalmologist when I go in tomorrow to have the stye drained and let him know just how frustrated I am over this entire mess.  They don't care that you have to keep taking time off of work.  My supervisor was not happy when I asked for time off yesterday and she definitely will not be happy for more time off Thursday.     It is a 10 minute procedure and I had waited an hour to see the doctor and his excuse was they were running an hour late.  No apology for making me wait an hour.  GRRRRR!

 My sympathies on your wait!  It drives me crazy how doctors can waste so much of our time and then have the nerve to expect us to just come back at their conveinence!  I actually had a doctor's office leave me a message changing my 10am appointment to the next day and then when I called and said I couldn't make it, they wanted to charge me anyway since I didn't give them 24 hours notice (it was 22 hours between when they left the message and when they wanted to reschedule!).  And then I had to pay 2 co-pays since the lab work was still on the original day.  Whatever happen to Marcus Welby, M.D.???  Anyway, I am just plugging away.  I opened the pool only to find that my liner is leaking so now I'm trying to locate the hole so I can repair it.  It's like looking for a needle in a wet haystack!  Not much else going on.  Rain rain go away...

Good Morning Nancy.

That is one thing that bothers me too. We had a dentist once for the kids that would make appointments for during school time, then after you would make arrangments to get the kids out of school, would cancel. I fially got fed up with that, and told his office girl that I expected a free call every time they cancelled, since we had to sign a note saying we would not cancell an appointment in less then 24 hours. They didn't like that. Needless to say, I found another Dentist for the girls.

Paul, we battled small pin holes in our liner for a whole summer, if it is on the side, let the water drop tro where it stays, and it will be on the water line.

I am heading for work this morning. It is my last day for a month. YEAHHHHH!!!!!! I am ready for a break. When you can't stand your clients one more minute, it  is best to stay home.

Nancy, I am sorry they didn't take care of the sty right away for you, that has to be beyond frustrating.  Don't ya love it that they can make ya wait for hours, but then won't even do the 10 min procedure??  I swear  am starting to hate Dr's! 

I am off around 9:30am to head to ABMC for my mammogram to make sure that lump they found and biopsied last year hasn't moved/grown or done anything else.  I am praying that it's the same.
Other than that, it's just back home and more homework and of course FB. LOL

I hate leaving the dogs alone when it's supposed to storm because they go nuts.  They are such scardy cats for being shepherds!  lol

Good morning Nancy and the rest of Illinois!

I have to agree with everyone else about doctor's not caring about OUR time......frustrating I know.  At least it will be taken care of tomorrow, that will be good.

I am working this morning, then off to Olivia's awards ceremony at school.  We have invited her grandmother so that will be nice for Liv.  She gets excellent grades, so I am sure we will be hearing her name called a couple of times, at least.

An interesting thing happened to me last night------I had the "foamies" and eventually (after "helping" myself) vomitted!!!!!  I very quickly ate a 3-4 oz. piece of fish left over from the seafood boil and was immediately miserable.  The PAIN!!!!  OMG!!!!!  I don't know if it was the fi****self, or eating too fast, but now I know what you all go through.  I have had small troubles in the past, but nothing like this!  I really can sympathize with those that go through this often----how horrible for you!  After getting rid of the foam and a tiny bit of whatever was in my pouch, I slept on the couch for an hour or so.  I got up to go to bed with some warm protein and my vitamins.  WOW!  I am going to stick with soft foods today to give my system a break.  The good news is that my pouch works!

Hope all of you who posted are feeling better tonight and that problems are resolving.

I taught my last class today--another milepost on the road to retirement. The group of students included some of my favorites from this class so even though I was going to only teach for part of the class, I ended up doing the regular class because I was having fun with them. They made sure to ask to me come to their Match Day next year and I certainly will do that! Right now it doesn't feel like I'll miss teaching, but maybe I will. Ask me a year from now. RIght now I am glad to be done!

It seems hard to believe I will off July and August entirely! I know I will miss my patients!
