Tuesday Roll Call
Hello everyone
I had a better day yesterday. Amanda was able to contact me after walking into town ( a 2 mile hike). She was saying that they have land lines but they aren't working right now. They should be up and running shortly. She is staying in a house with 4 other people. She is sharing her room with someone else. She starts work today. I hope all goes well.
I bought a new vacuume yesterday and when I vacuumed the floor you should have seen the crap this thing cleaned off my floor. YUCK!!!
I didn't cheat yesterday. I stayed on track.
Well I need to leave for work now. See you all later. Have a nice day.

The weekend was a blast here. I think we should have a long weekend every month!
I grilled for the gang yesterday and we all ate like kings. This really doesn't qualify for a R.O.D., but I can make a recommendation of Lawry's terriyaki marinade in a bottle. I soaked some skirt steak and onions and red, yellow, orange and green peppers in the marinade (separate containers for meat and veggies) for about 8 hours in the fridge. Grilled the steaks for about 5 minutes each side, veggies for ten minutes, stirring them every coouple of minutes (used grill basket). Soooo good! The pineapple in the marinade helps break down the meat a bit to help make it even more tender. There were NO leftovers and I made four GIANT skirt steaks (they are over a foot long each) for 5 people.

It feels like Monday on a Tuesday, so I will be mixed up all week. But that is OK. I really enjoyed having 3 days off.
Crystal, I am glad you heard from Amanda! I am sure that is a huge relief. Now you can rest a little easier knowing she is safe and settled in.
Well, it is back to the daily grind. My knee is making me very glad that I have surgery scheduled. Just wish they were doing both knees. But I think even having one good knee will help! I go back to the eye doctor today. We will see what he has to say about the stye.
Other than that it is the same old thing. Hope you can stay halfway dry this week.

I'm trying to pull together a bunch of documentation that they want for our refi. I really hate pulling out all this paperwork. Half of what they are asking for seems to be in a differenct language. I don't get it. So, I may have to wait until Calvin gets up to see if he understands what they want. Otherwise, I'll be making some phone calls today.
No big plans today.. Just work.

Good Morning my IL friends!
Crystal, I am glad that you got to talk to Amanda finally. It's very hard to get a signal with all the mountains around! Have I told you lately that I am jealous?? LOL
What kind of vacuum did you buy? We got one 2 Christmas's ago from my MIL that is a bagless...and I hate it! lol It just doesn't hold enough before you have to empty it. I have to drag a garbage can around with me. oh well.
Today I have no other plans than to clean the house and do homework. Mike is traveling to Madison today for work and of course I worry about him driving back and forth. Last week the husband of a dear friend of mine was in a car accident, head on, and the other driver died. They are both having a very hard time dealing with that. It wasn't his fault, but because he is alive, but with a broken hip and wrist, he feels guilty. Please keep them in your thoughts as they deal with this tragedy.

Good morning! I'm glad everyone had a good weekend! That skirt steak sound delicious! So what is everyone up to this week? I was going to keep this a surprise for everyone, but I have to share and ask for your opinion. I know several of you are going to be at the OH conf. in June. Well, I was/am going to be in the fashion show as a runway model. I need to send them my before and after pixs and a short bio. This is the thing though...$50 for one day is a little steep for me. I don't really want to go the first day, so that's why I say just for 1 day. I was thinking about calling my Dr. office to see if they have any reduced rate tickets. I'm just chicken to ask if I'm in the show if I still need to pay? I'm sure I do, but I just want to know.
I ran my second 5k this past weekend. I improved my time and came in 4th in my age division.
Is anyone going to the baseball game in June that the Kane Center is sponsoring? I think Madison and I are going to go. I hope everyone has a positive day and keep smiling!

I know that participating in the Fashion Show does not earn a free ticket.....sorry.
Please contact your surgeon's office and see what they might have available. If your surgeon's office is going to have a booth at the event, you might offer to volunteer for them in exchange for a free or reduced price ticket.
By the way.....CONGRATULATIONS on being IN the Fashion Show! I was hoping to do it also, but I could not seem to get a response to my inquiries. That is OK....we will all be there, cheering you on!

Good job on no cheats yesterday and I am glad that you could speak with Amanda also.
We had a great rest-of-the weekend. Sunday we had a campfire in the backyard and yesterday, the food fest. Everything was really good and I have lots of seafood left over for the week.
I am working today and hopefully going home to finish a few more planters if it is not raining. If it is raining, then I will get to relax!
