Good Afternoon all. Long time no see.
Well. I had a MD appointment today. (I am 5 months and about 2 weeks post op.)
I am going to copy and paste this off of my BLOG so I don't have to rewrite it........
MAN, I can't believe all the weight I have lost so fast. I had a Doctor's appointment today. I have officially lost 166lbs so far.
I started at 486lbs and at 320lbs now. I am still have weight to lose, but I am down 166 POUNDS!!!!!! Woo Hoo. I will reach my goal within a month. (Goal 275-300lbs)
I actually bought a 2xl pair of shorts the other day. I was wearing 6xl last Christmas, and it isn't even summer yet!
I am thrilled to death!
Now for the bad news...... I found a big lump in my groin about 2 weeks ago. It is about the size of a golf ball right at the inside of the right hip, but on my groin. I didn't think anything about it, because the Doctor told me I may get hernias, so I thought it was a hernia. Well, it isn't. My Doctor checked it out, then sent me down to the radiology department to get it checked out via Ultrasound. Anywaqy, they ultrasounded the whole groin, and scrotum. I was told my testies looked good. (I told him thanks, and I am sure his looked nice too.) Anyway, The tech didn't know what it was, so he called in the radiologist. The radiologist didn't know what it was, so he called in a lymph and tumor guy. Anyway, They couldn't tell what it is. They want to do a biopsy on it. But they want to wait a month to see if there is any change in it first. I have my next appointment on June 19th. Please, pray everything is good and it goes away. Cancer does run in my family. Both grand fathers and my father all died (young) from it.
I am kinda scared about this. I really don't want another surgery, or anything out of this. Please pray.
Thanks,
Dave

Hi Dave. It is great about your weight lost. Keep up with whatever you are doing.
Please do what the Dr's want. The scare of not knowing is sometimes worst then the prognosis.
Please don't stay away so long. We all miss you.

Hi Dave!
Glad to see your post....I agree with Lisa...do what your doctor wants to do....the not knowing can be worse than the actual diagnosis.
That can't do anything if they don't know what it is....I will also keep you in my prayers. Whatever you do DO NOT give up hope....my mother is a cancer survivor. We are here for you Dave....keep us posted.

Great to hear from you and to learn how great you are doing on your weight loss journey! Congrats!
I am sorry to hear about the lump. But think of it this way, if you had not lost the weight, then maybe it would not have been found and you would not have gotten treatment. It is kind of strange that the doctors don't know what it is, but I had one of those under my arm for several years that could never be diagnosed and eventually it went away.
It is very worrisome. But, keep a positive outlook. My mom beat cancer 3 times. It is not necessarily a fatal disease. She lived until 83 and her cause of death was heart failure.
You are on my prayer list. Try not to worry and place your faith in God. All will be well. Take care.
