Sorry I havent posted in awhile. I am in the beginning stages of finding a plastic surgeon and was wondering if anyone has someone that they would recommend. I am looking to get an arm life first. Also I was wondering if anyone had trouble getting the time off of work?? I worry that since it is an elective procedure that work does not have to approve my time off?? Thanks for your help!!

I have had some friends go though Dr. Zachary of U of C with stellar results on their lower body lifts, tummy tucks, boobs. I believe he does arms too.  http://www.uchospitals.edu/physicians/physician.html?id=5371

As far as arms go, if you're willing to travel, I hear the best guys are in Iowa City, Aly and Cram are artists with arms--barely any scars. http://www.icplasticsurgery.com/

Good luck!

I couldn't say that Dr. Cram and Dr. Aly are very good at doing lower body lifts.  They did mine and it's been a nightmare living in the skin they left me with.

Hi Amanda -
You may check w/ Dr. R.  He had a couple plastic surgeons speak last year and they were very informative.  I was impressed with both.  I can't remember names but I know Dr. R could direct you.  Good Luck!

As Christine says Dr. R has a couple of seminars yearly on plastic surgery.  Jack Gelman of Dreyfuss & Gelman has been there and one of his people he did surgery on was at the support meeting last fall. She looked fabulous.  You can check him out at plasticsurgeryexperts.net and his phone number is 815-806-9400 and 219-934-9782 I think he works out of Frankfort, IL and Munster, Indiana

under FMLA leave for any surgey is treated the same, you are off because the recovery time is needed, not for your employer to determine if the surgery is necessary only that your Dr. deems the RECOVERY time necessary.

If you are not covered under FMLA it is up for grabs whether it is plastics or a heart attack.
