Plastic Surgery
Hi.
I had a tummy tuck in November and then breast reconstruction and arm lift with Dr. Jack Gelman in Feb. (His office is in Frankfurt, IL) He's terrific and I'm quite pleased with the results, though it will take some time for the scars on the arms to lighten up. I have to say of all three surgeries (including my RNY) though, the arms were the most painful and taxing to recover from... (because there the incicions are so long) but still worth it.... though there are no short sleeves for me this year. Just prepare yourself for it. Incisions start at my elbows and go all they way down to under the breast. Surgery is outpatient in Tinley Park.
As far as recovery, I didn't want to answer any questions about why I was off so I took a week vacation, worked from home for a week and then took the third week in the office bu****ched my time and activity. So you may find you don't need a regular 6 weeks leave. (I did take the 6 weeks with the RNY.) So - I'm afraid I can't comment on time off issues for plastics but Dr. Gelman is great and his office staff is great too.
