Saturday Roll Call
Good morning everyone in Illini Land.
I have some work cut out for me today. A couple of little pit holes need to be dug so we can sink a 5 gallon bucket with holes in them to suck some of the water out from below the surface of the ground. It looks like we will have a couple of days without percipitation but that is not enough as we basically need a small draught in our area.
I am off to breakfast and then home to dig.

Good Morning Christine and all you good folks in Illinois.
Christine, I just came up with a brainstorm, kinda. Why can't you put a sump pump in Lake Bennet and drain it into the street (or sewer system). It might save you from digging.
DH is off to finish a mess at a rental. He had to drain 6 inches of water from a basement, and of course, that blew out the water heater, so he had to dry it out and is trying to relight it.
I am getting ready to visit with my girls. We were suppose to meet in Yorkville, but the DD that lives there, is not working today, afterall, and she is coming here. Not sure what we are doing yet. The guys are putting in a porch.
Have a great Saturday, stay safe, and try to get some vitimin D today.

Good Morning! I am starting my liquid diet today and I am super nervous. So far I have just had my water this morning but I am gonna have my protien drink here soon. Do you guys have any suggestions on any good protien drinks? Other than that we have my sons soccer game today at 3p and that is about it. The soccer games are very cute though its a ton of 4 year olds just chasing the ball around LOL . Have a great day everyone Only 10 days till I am on the losers bench Woo Hoo

GNC has a great mint chocolate protein drink mix. Also I like the plain vanilla from walmart with torianni or Davinci (sugar free syrup) mixed in. Use some Ice to make it thicker. I use frozen fruit but dont think you can have that on your liquid diet.
I found when I got hungry on the liquid diet, that hot tea and broth really helped. Mix beef broth with chicken for a much better flavor.
Keep your mind focused on surgery. I just kept telling myself that there was no way that I was going to go through with this, then cheat and have the surgeon open me up and close me up without doing the surgery because my liver had not shrunk enough.
An added bonus for me was I lost 40 lbs on my preop diet. I did not weigh myself in that time period so it was a very nice surprise the morning of surgery! Hang in there these next 10 days and good luck!

Good Morning All -
Happy Saturday.. The sun is shining and it feels good! I have to 2hrs before I have to be at work then the rest of the day is workie, workie.. I hope it's a good money making day. My foot is still throbbing from my closing shift last night. It still swells up by the end of the day. This morning it feels like the old days when I was young and not married. I would go out and drink margaritas w/ salt and my feet would feel like watermelons the next morning. Nice picture I just painted huh? LOL Those days are done and gone.. Thank goodness!
Since I only have a couple hours, I think I'll wait to cut the grass until tomorrow. I don't have to wor****il 4 tomorrow which gives me most of the day to play outside.

Christine, I could not believe the pictures of Lake Christine! Love the ducks. Hope the city decides to help deal with the problem and not at normal speed. What a mess.
Today I do not have any special plans. Just the usual weekend chores. There is a plant sale that a man who is a cancer survivor holds every year. It is huge and proceeds go to the cancer society. I usually hit that. You know that you are getting great flowers and supporting a good cause rather than money going into a merchants pocket. It is always a zoo. He has it at his home but has as many plants as some garden centers! Lots of selections! They bring in racks of plants and baskets to choose from.
The sun is out and it promises to be a beautiful day. Enjoy it!
