My Journey Has Begun!!!

I saw Dr. Siegal in Gurnee, Illinois today. He remembered me from 2005! When I saw him in 2005 he was pushing the RNY and I wanted the Lapband. Now, I have 100% decided on the RNY and he was pushing the Lapband since I am BARELY 35 BMI (34.9 to be exact!). I told him I feel more confident in the RNY due to my Diabetes, etc. He said okay, let's get the ball rolling.

So, here's my break-down:

Dietician Wednesday, May 6th at 1pm
Physical Evaluation Friday, May 22nd at 10:15am
Psych Evaluation Thursday, May 28th at 11:30am
1 Month Follow-Up with Dr. Siegal June 4th at 3:30pm

Now, I did ALL of this back in 2005 and then cancelled the whole thing. Now 4 years later I must start the process all over again but I am SERIOUS this time!

I asked how hard it was to get approved with IPA (I have Kid Care) and he said it was probably one of the easier approvals out there and doesn't require much "Pre-treatment"

I hope this is the case! I told him my goal is to have the surgery by July 31st and he said it may be doable as long as I get my evals done before I see him next!

I want this so badly and I just hope things works out!

I see you are also in Round Lake, have you attended any of the local support group meetings? The one in Lindenhurst and Waukegan are both ran by Vista Health and have wonderful, supportive people! Would love to see you there some time!

next support group is on may 20th in waukegan on sheridan & glenn flora (at vista east) at 7pm, come, i will be there...
