Hey Crystal- Do not worry about the calories at this point, you are still in the early stages. Eventually you will get there.
I usually feel a problem immediately, but do know there are some who feel it after they finish their meal.
Do not cancel your fill appointment until a day or two before. You can have good restriction today and tomorrow it can be gone.
Hope you see that promotion real soon!

Hello Everyone,
I think I've introuduced myself before but in case I didn't.  I'm Cheryl married live in Central Illinois a little south of springfield.  I was banded January of this year.  I always read the Illinois board but rarely post because I realize I have a very predictable/boring life.  I prefer it that way because usually excitement means bad news.  :-)

Crystal,
I found at first I was the same way I am now begining to realize when I eat when I'm getting full I think it just takes experience.  You will find your calories will pick up as you get less scared to experiment with different foods and it is possible you won't need your first fill.  Over on the band board we have a couple of people with excellent results so far with no fills.

Everyone have a great Easter if I don't post again before.

Crystal, part of the reason that you do not feel the effects of eating too much at the time you are eating is because it takes 20-30 minutes for your belly to register with your brain that you are full. The nerve receptors are slow in reacting. That is why docs preach that you need to eat slowly and to concentrate on how much you are eating and to eat slowly. It is all part of learning the new life style changes. You will get the hang of it.

Success begins with wise choices I make,I will not let noncompliance be my mistake, The surgery I had was to assist me in changes. My compliance is for a success long range, So I will think before I decide to cheat. Remember the goals I want to meet. For this surgery is not something I was force to do It was what I wanted for a healthy life!

Good Morning Illinois,

My day today is cleaning and doing some errands. Also, I am sure other things will come up. DH is great about calling me to do things for him while he is at work. Of course, I am guilty of that too when he is off and I am working.

I am trying to modify a receipe for apricot bars that I want to make over the weekend. It calls for sugar and brown sugar. I know I can change the sugar to spenda, and use spenda brown sugar. I just need to see what else I can change. Then I will post it.

Stay safe  today,

Hugs

Lisa

Good Morning Chris and the rest of IL

Happy Passover to everyone who celebrates it!!  I have nothing really on the books today, other than talking to Katie at Dr R's office about my bloodwork.  She promised to call me back today and I don't plan on missing that call.  They are so bad with the follow up care.

Today is my 1 year from my second life saving surgery!  This is the day that Dr R actually saved my life.  I had a bowel obstruction and honestly thought I was going to die, I was SO sick.  When I woke up from the open procedure he did I knew that I was going to be fine.  I have had no problems or complications since then and it seems like a distant memory to me now.  Though I will never forget what I went through and will always feel blessed that the Lord felt I was worth saving.   Today I am down 107 pounds and only have about 23 more pounds til my goal weight.

I don't know where I'd be without all the wonderful friends I have made here either.  I love you all!

have a wonderful, warm and safe day today!

Monica

Good Morning All!  Last night I went to my wife's aunt's house for a Passover dinner and it was very good.  However, I ate a little too much and had a bad reaction.  But it was nice to see people who haven't seen me since before my surgery.  Everybody was very surprised at my changes and very praising.  Today is just taking care of Meredith and then class tonight.  I woke up with a crick in my neck yesterday.  I've been using the inversion table, and that has helped a lot, but I may try and get in to the chiropractor later today.  The insurance company has approved the claim for the siding on my house so we will be moving forward quickly.  I may try and paint all the wood trim this weekend so that it is ready when they put the new siding on.  Not much other stuff to report today.
