I need a release from my PCP about some labs that he done where my THS was high ( but for me there fine ) . My surgeon took the same labs and just wanted the ok from my PCP for the go a head on the WLS.  My PCP will not give my a letter a note NADA said if the surgeon wanted the labs would fax him the labs but would not give a go a head on the WLS he said only my surgeon could give that. My surgeon took the same labs so that would not help .I know I could change doctor but I can't do that right know it would mess up my lil girls doctor and she's special needs . What do I do ??? I am sooooo mad right now....

Maybe you should try getting your ob gyn a call and asking if they would write a letter for you.  They are considered PCP's also.  Try it it may solve your issue.

If you LOVED me when I was fat, you are going to be OBSESSED when I am thin!

Okay, I think that I am reading you this way that you had some labs done and you need your PCP to write a letter regarding them and also a release from him to the surgeon for you to have your WLS? Well, you can ask for a copy of your labs. I get them all the time from my internist when I ask.

You might have to have your surgeon step in for you and contact the PCP for the letter. All doctors have some sort of a form that the patient will fill out releasing documents to other doctors. That would be a place to start first by filling out the form or making your own letter on the computer and send it off to the PCP. What reason did the PCP give for not giving a letter for the go ahead for surgery?

Did your PCP refer you to Dr.Vitello?  My doc does not actually do the recommend for surgery either.  Not completely sure how it all works and meant to get more into that today.  My pcp refered me to a clinic that had a nut and a nurse practicianer for twelve months of medically supervised weight loss required by BCBSIL HMO.  At six months that changed to another location with the same nut and doc(maybe a D.O.).  Then Alexian which they are all under started sending me bills for extra copays but forgave them when I explained the original conversation I had with the original clinic but said I should contact my other thing which is a group that you get palced in that is somehow between the HMO and the doc.  That is who I should have called today but got busy with work that actually pays and forgot to do so.  My PCP had originally refered me to a surgeon at Rush but now will refer me to Dr. Vitello with whom I have an appointment next month.  I am expecting at that time for Dr. V to want me to see a cardio and my sleep doc again and have a psych eval.  I hope that is all of the process and that I get enough work to pay for the copays for all of that. I hope all of this makes sense to you and is of some help.

okay why don't your PCP, put you synthroid to control you levels, so they will be within normal limits, than you will be clear for all labs......
