I just don't know how I am gonna work, I have a problem anymore.  This is sort of gross, but wondered if anyone else has this problem.  I don't do it everyday, but it happens a lot, and I can't eat or just even drink water and I get the runs, to the point where I have to go NOW!

Anyone else?

Sounds like stress but then again I would check with your doc or docs. I had a problem for years with explosive bm's and then found out it was Microscopic colitis. I have bowel disease in my family on both sides. you have to be diagnosed with a colonoscopy or lower GI for the different bowel diseases.  I am not saying this is your problem. Watch your caffeine intake because it can cause the runs with stress.

Thanks Christine, I was just gonna e-mail you and ask if you had heard about this before, or done it yourself.

Gonna check with surgeon, never did have my 2 year check up yet.  My surgeon left the area, and now her partner sees everyone.  What fun!

Dee, I haven't had this issue, but from what I read on OH, a visit to a GI doc might be in order.

In the meantime, can you try to see if it is food or stress-related? Maybe go back to basics on your diet and then add foods in one at a time to see if one of them is a culprit, like milk.

Do you take a probiotic? Some people's good bacteria are out of whack and a probiotic can help set things right/re-establish the proper balance of good and bad bacteria and diarrhea or gas goes away.

Another thought, can you up the amount of fiber in your diet? Take an OTC fiber supplement either in drink or pill form and that could firm things up a bit.

One more thing. You may want to be tested for C diff (involves bring in about 3 poop samples to the hospital). If you have this, it would cause the runs, too. It can be cleared up with antibiotics.

Just some thoughts. I hope you can get this resolved soon. Please let us know how you are.
