Happy Birthday to me!
I am the big 65 today! What a hoot! Now I get all the discounts! When I turned 50 and joined AARP I got back the ten year membership cost in the first six months of discounts. So this should be a real bonus. The best part is that I get to retire now. I am actually going to retire from teaching on June 30th. I will be able to still see my patients starting again in the fall. (Univ of IL requires 60 days off in between). Maybe I can travel (LOL). Like I don't travel now! How could anyone be gone more than I am and still live here? But anyway I am excited. I got gift certificates for yarn--what could be better. One of the yarn folks also has the same birthday so about 18 of us are going out for a party tonight. I am planning to have a ball!

We had a great party with dinner at Five Forks and cake at a friends house. We are all knitters and even though the spouses were there and really don't know each other, it went incredibly well and there were all kinds of connections where we knew people in common. So we laughed and teased. I got yarn (Yeah) and lots of funny cards and a bottle of wine.
When we got home there was a message from my Mom who leaves this message "Happy birthday Connie, this is your mother in St. Louis". Does she think I think she moved somewhere else or that I have another mother somewhere? It always cracks me up when she leaves that message. She has lived there over 91 years--I don't think she is planning on moving at this late date!
Thanks for all the good wishes! You have added joy to my day!

It looks like you had a bang-up birthday and I am SO happy for you! Congratulations on this milestone and enjoy the next 30 years in a healthier body! I agree, now that you are retired, you should take up traveling.........
