Question ?

Hello Ladies and gents :) I hope everyone is doing well !  I am usually a lurker, but my computer has been on the fritz so my DH just fixed it for me.  I have been over all doing well .... but I do have a question :)

I am about 15 months out of surgery.  I know that I have gallbladder issues and I am seeing my surgeron on 4/9 to start the process of having it out.  When I have my gallbladder pain it is horrible like middle to right side stabbing pain.  But I also am having left side pain that seems deep ... I think it is gas pains makes me throw up ... but as a lot of you my "puker" is broken so I had the "foamies" like 5x yesterday and horrible pain.  I don't over eat and I don't eat "bad" things.... I don't see an actual trigger food but I think the little bit of "bread" that I eat can sometimes do it.

Do any of you sufer from something similar? Is it gallbladder too or do you think it is gas?  If so, what do you do?  I saw that someone wrote that they take protonix? for gas....is that for being overly gassy or is that for trapped gas....

Oh I just don't know :(

Thanks All
Gina :)

Hi Gina, How have you been? Long time no see, I can't help you as I don't have my gall bladder anymore, but do have a lot of gas problems, and it can hurt as well,
Good luck to you hope Dr. finds out what is going on with you.
Hey hope to see you at the next Rockford support meeting,
Janet

Success begins with wise choices I make,I will not let noncompliance be my mistake, The surgery I had was to assist me in changes. My compliance is for a success long range, So I will think before I decide to cheat. Remember the goals I want to meet. For this surgery is not something I was force to do It was what I wanted for a healthy life!

Hi Gina!
Great to see you again!  Maybe you can come to the Rockford meeting on April 20?  Janey and I are making pie.......

Anyway, to add my $ .02......Protonix is for GERD, or protection against ulcers.

I use Probiotics to help with the gas.  If I miss one, I can tell right away.  I take the generic form of "Pearls" which is 1 million acidopoulis (sp?).  These have really helped with the gas issue and I know that it can be painful.

Please emtntion it to the doctor though as she should know about it in case it is NOT gas.

Thank you Ladies!  I am doing really well... I would love to come to the meeting but I have to work on Mondays and do not usually leave the office until 6:45 I don't think that I would get there until well after 7pm :(  Pie sounds wonderful thou!!

I am hoping to get in sooner than to see the doctor!  This is so horriable!

Hope everyone is having a great day!

I am sort of an expert on gall bladder pain/issues. I almost died because of I let my gall bladder issue go for too long (18 months).

When you are having a gall bladder attack the pain will start in the pit of your stomach (I had many a night that it woke me up with that pain), then the pain typically will "travel" to the right hand side of your body and then will "camp out" in the middle of your back. Most gall bladder attacks will occur because of a fatty meal. Now, because a person has lost a lot of weight they can have issues. The weight loss can cause your body to create the gall stones.

I really do not think that your issues with bread are the root cause to what is going on with you. You are doing the correct thing by going to your doctor for this.

Do not be such a stranger and stop into the daily roll call when you can.
