Quick Question
Hi all im sort of a newbie. Ive just kind of been lurking(lol) and reading some posts. Im still trying to decided what type of WLS I want to have. I have a question though..Im 22 and one day (in the far future) I want to have children. Will I be able to do this with any WLS or do I have to get the lapband?
Thank you guys for answering :)

Hi, Tiffany!
Yep, you can have children after WLS. You just have to work with you doctor on a post-op plan that's right for you.
If you'd like to know more about the duodenal switch, visit the DS forum here or www.dsfacts.com. On the DS forum, there are at least 3 women who are currently pregnant, so feel free and ask this question on that board.
Some feel more comfortable having the VSG--surgical restiction with no malabsorption. You may want to check out the VSG forum here, too.
Best of luck on your decision!

Well, I love my DS! Check out my profile and feel free to ask me any questions you'd like.
The only docs in Chicago who do the DS are at the University of Chicago. My doc, John Rabkin, is in San Fran, but he does come to Chicago for our monthly support group meetings, so I see him as much as I see some of my family members.
I highly recommend him.
