R.O.D.-Whiskey Thighs
Whisky Thighs
Chicken thighs are a bit higher in fat, but tastier and moister for us. This marinade can also be used with chicken breast and pork chops.
1.5 lbs Chicken Thighs (remove all visible fat)
Marinade
¾ c. soy sauce
¾ c. Brown Sugar Splenda
1 ½ cloves garlic, minced
1 ½ tsp. freshly grated gingerroot
1 ½ green onions, green & white parts, minced
¾ c. whiskey (bourbon, rye, whatever)
3 Tbs. white wine
Combine marinade ingredients in glass bowl.
Add chicken thighs to marinade in zipper bag, turning to make sure all meat comes into contact with marinade. Refrigerate several hours or overnight, turning occasionally.
Bake at 350 degrees for approximately an hour basting with marinade.
May also be grilled, but boil marinade for 5 minutes before using as a baste if grilling.
