Good morning Christine and all of Il-

Well I hope everyone has a happy St.  Paddy's Day!  

I was to take my puppy that is a couple months old for her next set of shots.  I also was suppose to take my 5 year old in for her 5 year/kindergarten appt at the doctor. 

I am going to have to scratch all of it I think, I am having a severe pain on my left side below where the drain was.  Anyone have any ideas please?  I had to have my husband help me out of bed again like right after surgery.  I am going to call the doctor once my kids are off to school in a half hour.  I did not eat anything I should not have and am drinking my fluids.  

I hope everyone else has a great St Paddy's Day and enjoys your corned beef and cabbage......

Definately call the doc.  Perhaps it is just the last of fluid building up and can be taken out with a hypo. I had a similar experiance after taking out a drain once and had to have another put in.  I think that is also where I got an infection that I took two six week IV rounds to try to get rid of and then had to have all of my meshes removed after I went septic.  So make sure the doc checks any fluid he draws for all types of infections.

I agree with Randy, call your doctor on this. It is probably what Randy thinks a small pocket of fluid and that can be drained or they will jus****ch that it does not get worse.

Thanks Randy and Christine-  I called and am waiting to hear back from the office.  My surgeon does surgeries all day on Tuesdays but I am hoping to hear from the nurse coordinator soon.  I know I can go see him in between surgeries.  Thanks again, i was starting to think between this and my pain last week that this is crazy and does anyone else have these problems????  I just want to feel better and be able to lose weight!

I had severe pain on my left side at the incision where they do most of the work.  It was there for about a month...after that it went away.  I am glad you called the Dr...but it might not be that serious...

So the doctor called back and said it is probably muscular pain from exactly what you mentioned, that the staplers and bigger instruments all went through that area.  They said they see this alot around the 3rd to 4th week out.  I am only 2 weeks out but they said since my only symptom is pain in that area and that it is not as severe in certain positions it was muscular.  I AM GREAT WITH THAT!  

Thanks for everyones thoughts!  It is nice to get some advice from people that have been through the same things!!!!

Happy St Patrick's Day All!

Its been awhile since I have posted.  I hope everyone is well.  I am lucky enough to be off work today and plan on getting outside to enjoy the nice weather.  The inside of my car really needs a good cleaning so thats probably what I will do.  It looks like a 4yo is living in the backseat!  Have a great day!

Yeah, the back of my car usually looks trashy also. Mine is maps, umbrella and snow scrapers. I do not drive very often and then when I get home I look at it and say NAAA! and go in the house and close the garage door.
