Droopy goopy rainy Monday roll call.
I have been a member for about a year but at the age of 61 I still have trouble saying what I feel or talking about myself, I have lost about 40 lbs, but not even what I want to,and by this time I thought I would be down to goal, I have decided I can not do this alone and I need some help and encouragement,,,I have never had a good appitite, and they say my matabilizm just isn;t working, I have trouble drinking the fluids, and Now i am so depressed about this whole thing I could go hid in a closet,,,Please give me some ideas and or some words of encouragement, because i don't want to of gone through this lap band for nothing, I worked to hard to get it to be a reality, thanks,In Christian love and Respect, Thor
Thor, does your doctor have a support group? If not are you in an area that has a hospital group that might be meeting for WLS?
How much did you have to loose, what is your surgery date, have you checked back with your doctor to make sure you do not have a mechanical problem? Have you talked to your doctor about your progress?
I see that you have the band. Have you posted on the lapband board? Or on this board as there are a few bandsters that could help you. You need to remember with the band you loose far slower then RNY or DS patients. But at 5 years out the statistics are neck 'n neck.
You can post any question you would like to on the IL or other boards. It grabs people's attention if it is a seperate question instead of it being in the daily roll call. Because some people do not go back into the roll call after they have posted because of their busy days.
I glad that I had a chance to come in and answer another post from a member and happened to see your post. I hope that I helped.
Oh by the way it is okay to be shy and have trouble saying what you feel or talk about yourself. We try to be unassuming members here and are all here for the same reason and that is to get healthy. In the mean time many of us have become friends and we meet face to face at get togethers like this last Saturday.

Hey, been home for the day after work and a visit for some labs to the doc for my thyroid. Normal thing for a person that has Grave's disease with a thyroid that has been killed off with meds.
I made my ressies for the OH convention. Sorry, as I will not share my room as I am a private person and Dave in the end might come over for the night.
I might need a ride home that day on Saturday after it is all over. I only live about 10 miles SW of the hotel. Dave will be serving lunch at the Creek that day.

ps you guys see Dee's post with some of the cautions that I mentioned.
