Those darn GI bugs do take a lot out of a person. It sounds like it camped out in your tummy and did not want to leave. Today seems to be a great day to take a nap if one can still sleep at night after taking one.

Good morning all-I guess we'll all run between the raindrops today.  Hope no one is in danger of flooding.  Got all my clocks reset-so I feel like a slept an hour longer.  I wake up at my week day time on the week-ends-that stinks!!!  I wish I could have you all at my house but my apartment is just too small!  Eddie has just done such a great job decorarting it-even with his hand troubles I don't know how he managed but it's just great-I am very proud of him!!  (And it's not often I can say that )  Nothing major today-some shopping and R&R before back to work.  We had a rough month end this month-the deals just were terrible!!!  I had to return 10 to the finance office until they were in an acceptable state to do the accounting.    Then they deliverd the wrong car twice so the mountain of paperwork to fix that is just unimaginable.  I have heard through the grapevine that when they see me coming into the show room w/papers in my hands thay scatter.  I didn't think   I was that formidable-maybe they think I'm gonna whack 'em w/my cane!!!  I do have a lot of fun there-it's a good place to work-crazy but good.  Sat dry and have a good wwek-Big Hugs-Janet K

Janet, that is so hard to be working in an industry that is being slammed with the economy. My Dave knows that also. We have friends that have been let go from Alcatel/Lucent recently. My nephew is still hanging on there but barely.

I know ,we have a friend who was w/Lucent from when it was Western Electric.  One third of their pension was in Lucent stock when it crashed-you met her at my house.  They just cut our her health insurance and now she's so afraid they will cut his also.  My dealership has been around since the early 80's first in Berwyn and the main store is now in N. Riverside.  My store was originally Celozzi-Ettleson-Mr. Castle took over his franchise.  His son now runs both stores and he is a very astute business man and I must say a very honest dealer.  I could not work for a sleaze bag and they are out there.  He has put aside enough to run both stores with no help(ie:GM) if need be, for a year.
My brother-in-law is unemployed again and they are on CHIPS and their son works for Caterpiller and is in constant fear of lay off.  It is not good anywhere right now.  We just keep praying for a better tomorrow-it'll happen.  Hi to Dave-we need to get together!!!  Big hugs-Janet K

Dave has his pension with Lucent which is just a lump sum a month and it is being eaten up by medical insurance yearly. They screwed him over so much that he does not even get an increase every year. Yes, there has been rumblings in the retiree neighborhood with Lucent to eliminate insurance. Just another thing to screw over the loyal employees.

At least I know my insurance and pension is guaranteed via state statutue. Of course the insurance is at my expense but it is a full boat policy. Full and generous PPO.

We bought both of our most recent cars from Latoff in Arlington Heights. The Latoff family closed the doors on purpose because Chevrolet wanted to come in and take over the dealership. Supposedly I do not know how much of that is true. There goes another great family owned business. Who looses but the customer.

Good morning Chris and the rest of Illinois!

I loved seeing everyone yesterday and now feel bad that I did not get in touch with Janet...SORRY honey!  I did not get a chance to check the board yesterday, but I should have tried to make time.  I made it to the museum to pick up Liv by 4:30 and was only THAT late because of a traffic back up on State St. in Rockford.  Go figure!

Eileen-----I was almost back to Rockford before I realized that I forgot to bring those CDs back in to you.  I will contact you about maybe mailing them.

Today, I need to come up with a great plan for dinner as a cold rainy day is a great day for a roast or a crock pot meal.

Liv has a softball thing to attend and we hope to watch "Anna and the King" (with Jodie Foster) as research for the upcoming audition.

That's about it for me!

Everyone have a lovely day and tell someone how much you love them!

Dawn, I did mean to thank you for something yesterday. When you encouraged us all to reach out to friends and family and tell them we loved them, I did, via email. I got such lovely responses back. They all said they already knew I loved them, but it was nice to hear it in the middle of the day, etc.

So, thanks! We should do this often.

Good evening Christine and Illinois!

I'm posting late today as we had to drive to Berwyn to visit a friend in the hospital. Thank goodness that it rained hard while we were in the hospital and not while we were driving. I'm glad to get back home. The flooded streets are horrible. We stopped to have a late lunch/early dinner before returning home.
Hope no one is having flooding issues in their home.
Later....

I got home tonight around 6, I had a  great time talking to everyone yesterday! I hit rain all the way home but when I got to La Salle just sprinkles.
My son came down with a stomach but late last night so we did have to stop some coming home for him.
He feels better but not great.

Karen
