FROSTY TUESDAY ROLL CALL

BURRRRR... I am lying here in bed. I am afraid to get out from under my 50 lbs of comforters. It feels cold in my house. So I am going to stay here until I hear the heater kick on before I get up.

I always sleep with shorts on and no shirt. But I was thinking of throwing a shirt in bed with me before I go to bed. That way I have a warm shirt to put on before I get up.  I imagine it would get kinda wrinklie so it would be a transition shirt. From the bed until I put on my other shirt I am going to wear.

When ever I am cold I think about the Battle of the Bulge. Where Nazi Germany hit the Allied troops in the last ditch effort to split their defensive line. The men were living in Fox Holes, it was freezing (-30 at times) US troops were going to sleep in fox holes and never getting up because they froze to death. If they popped their head out of the fox hole too long they would get a bullet between the eyes. I guess we don't have much to complain about when it drops down to 65 in the house until the heater kicks on. If you know anyone who went to through the battle of the bulge buy them a cup of hot coffee. The guys I talk to tell me that they get shivers sometimes just thinking about what happened back then.

Anyway, I got my new (used) car from Elgin last night. It is really cool. It has a 4 speed, and it is really fast. I don't think I am going to let my son have it. I think I have to keep it.  It is at my buddies house for now, because I am loaning it to his daughter to finish this semester of college with. (She goes to a Bible college in WIsconsin. SO, it will be up there for a couple more months, then I am taking it back and doing some serious playing.

I went out to the resturant where we are having our get together. They have a lot of stuff that I could eat on the salad bar. Tuna & noodles salad, cottage cheese, snow peas (The only veggie that I can eat that isn't steamed) plus they have the best blue cheese in the world for my snow peas, and their soups are excellent....  Also pizza, which I didn't eat, but it is really good. I have had it many, many times. I can't wait until we all get together. It is going to be a good time. Everyone who can come needs to come.

Well, heater is on, time to get up.

Have a good day all!

Dave

Hello everyone

Well I guess it's official I'm sick.   It's not really bad but it's only Tuesday and I have to last till Friday.  I have no vacation time left now.  So I can't take days off (unless I want no pay and I can't afford to go without pay).  So I'm here at work pumped full of medicine and I have lysol to kill my germs (I don't want to make others sick).  I also have a doctor appt today at 11(I will go on lunch), so we will see what he says.  I guess the biggest complaint is my throat.

Its day two of waiting for insurance approval.  I think I'm going to go nuts before they get back to me.

On top everything else being sick and everything,  I have to do laundry.  Which isn't easy when your sick.  I was loading my car with my dirty laundry this morning and some nosey neighbor was watching me like I'm a thief.  It was annoying me.  I guess I'm just not in a good mood today.

Have a nice day

 Good Morning Dave and Illinois!

Dave, it sounds like you found a new toy in your new car.  Have fun!  You may have to fight your son for the wheels though.

I hear you about not wanting to get up until the heat kicks on.  I turn my heat down to 62 at night and always wait for it to come on before venturing out of the covers.  I have a warm robe ready to put on as I emerge from the covers.

Well, I got my furnace picked out yesterday.  In order to qualify for the tax refund, you have to spend more on a furnace but I ended up getting a really good furnace for the same price that I would have paid for a regular furnace once the rebate kicks in.  Only problem is I have to wait a year to get my $1500.00 back.

Today is a short day at work because I have PT.  Tomorrow I am off.  I have to go to court because I got a speeding ticked New years eve on the way to work.  We have a road that is 30 mph in a country area and I was going 40 and got nailed in the middle of corn fields.    So I have to take the day off work to go to court because the cop decided I had to make a court appearance.  The kicker was I was debating on going to work that morning as I was still getting over stomach flu and wondered if I was going to make it to work without a "problem"  If I did not show up at work that day, I would miss pay for New Years day as well.  It would have been cheaper to stay home had I known I would get a ticket.  Grrr.

Oh well, I was speeding so, my bad.  It is just an expensive week for me.

Have a great week.

Good morning Dave and IL family.

Dave, it's a good thing I don't have your car  as I like to speed. I've gotten enough speeding tickets and don't want to pay anymore.

Nancy, it sucks that you got a ticket for 10 over and being sick. Hope your court appearance goes well and in your favor!

Crystal, hang in there with the cold. It will get better soon.

For me, well I'm at work. I didn't want to get out of the covers this morning either. I keep my house at 64 degrees. Brrrrr.

I'm dressed up for Mardi Gras day... Purple top that has an open lacy back and purple pants. Plus a Mardi Gras pin (purple mask with gold and green in it and rhinestones) and wearing a purple colored beaded chain that has a carnival mask on it. I got it from the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas.

Today is Fat Tuesday - but not for me!

Take care everyone. Have a great day.

Hugs,
Lucy

Good morning!

We keep the house at 55 at night, but the furnace does go on at 6 and we rarely get up that early so it's not usually a problem. I do run the shower a bit since the floor of the shower is cold if you are the first one in it. That room has a ceiling heater so it can always be warm. This house was designed by a woman and she was a thinker about creature comforts.

I've got kind of a chopped up day with meetings and more  meetings with clients in between, but it looks like I can knit over lunch. Just being out of the office breaks up my day nicely.

My NUT doesn't want us to keep track of the food we are eating, but I do so much better when I do that I've decided to do that for Lent. Back online with writing and planning everything. I'm actually looking forward to it.

Have a good day folks and stay warm!

Good Morning Illinois,

Nothing for me today except to go to work. No plans for tonight except to listen to the President speak. I would rather watch NCIS, but I know he will speak at 7 our time. I am taking my homemade chili for lunch today. I do not care to have to go out for lunch since we only get 1/2 hour.

Gotta run,

Stay safe and warm,

Huggers

Aw shucks.  This was to be the episode where they ride horses.

There is actually too much TV online at this time for DW and I to have time to watch it.

Good morning Illinois,

I have been busy at work. Thanks for all the support with my snowblower..  I'm waiting to hear from them. Soeone is watching over me today.  I have to fill out FAFSA forms for college aid. We will have two in college in the fall. I have to have this done by Saturday.  I couldn't remember where I put my 2007 taxes and found them before I left for work. I'll be busy the next few days.  I'm looking forward to temps above thirty.

Hope everyoe starts feeling better. Have a nice day.

I just love doing FAFSA forms NOT!!!!! I not only do mine, but I have to do my daughters as well.  I keept telling her she has to learn to do this on her own.  Heck, I can not even get her to do her own taxes.  She says well that is why you are an accountant right?  I said no, not to do taxes.
