I hope everyone is well.  I have not been on the board recently.  I have not felt very social for a while.  I am sure that is it s symptom of depression, due to the deterioration of our work situation.  I will be pinked slipped from the school district I work for.  I will probably get the notification next month.  Normally, I would expect to be called back before the school year ends, but we have a new superintendent and everyone (almost) is fearing for their jobs.  100% of special ed assistants in my category are being pink-slipped.  The school district is planning on staffing by state standards for special ed, and those are not realistic (not enough adults per student).  We realize that, but the administration does not.  So, I will be on pins and needles until they start doing call-backs to see if I will be back next year.  Or, by June 10th, i could be out of work and out of health insurance by the end of August.

My DH has been working PT for his former company, but they let him know they don't have anything for him to do this week.  I know he wasn't doing much last week.

I wish you a happy day.

Dave - you are HILARIOUS.

I think Cory and I will pass on the ice sliding. Besides....you know "we" don't do cold weather!!! LOL!!!

Checkin in. Home sick today. Babysat my brand new twin grandsons last night (yes, I have 5 grandkids) and they wore me OUT!! Cory is at work.

Still working from home though...I'm a bit of a work-a-holic.

Hope everyone in my new OH fam has a Blessed day!

Christina,

Thank you! That was a whole other ordeal. They were born with TTTS, a transfusion sydrome where one twin becomes the blood donor to the other. Not good. They are home now, a month old, and doing fine. I know that prayer works! It was pretty touch and go for a while. They are identical twins and this illness only happens with them. Also, over half of twins born with this die before birth. So I am always glad to spend time with my little miricle men. Especially since I had only girls!!! First boys in my family for 4 generations!

................uuuh.....sorry...got carried away there...can you tell I'm a proud and grateful granny? LOL

My husband and I joined the boards a few days ago. He's scheduled for March 16th.

Wow.. glad to hear the boys are doing better and I'm sure each day they will be stronger and healthier.  What a blessing.

Congratulations to you both on Cory's upcoming surgery.  It's such an exciting time but also can be emotional.  Remember he is probably thinking about having to give up one of his best friends.  FOOD.  Talk about stress!  Thank goodness he has you and all of us..  We are here for you both.

Well, I know I haven't posted much lately but I have been lurking and trying to keep up with everyone.

Dave, I am still an ebay virgin and I do not have the guts to even try it.  I hope that care works out ok.

Lucy, I get frustrated with Dr. offices when they reschedule too.

Dee, I am sorry to hear about your mom.

Christine, I hope you feel better soon.

Eileen, I hope things are getting better with Noah.

To anyone I have missed, hello and I hope things are going well.

Now for me....I have lost 110 lbs so, and I am doing quite well so far. Right now I am just thankful I still have a job.  It was announced last week to all employees (it was in the news too) that we will be taking a 50% cut in pay for 6 weeks (3 pay periods) and then a 20% cut in pay until the end of June.  This put me into scramble mode as I was still recovering from the 10-day no pay furlough at the end of last year.  This left me with maxed out credit cards and a drained savings.  I hurried and did my taxes and hopefully my return will help us get through this.  I am updating my resume and will start looking for a part time job so I can pay my bills.  School is going as well as can be, I thought for a moment that I would have to drop out but that would have left me with a $6,000 out of pocket cost and my next class I was supposed to have an out of pocket cost, but when I explained the situation to the Univeristy they waived the fees. So, I am still in school but taking a 28 day leave of absence to relieve some stress for a tiny bit.  I am almost done, and I dont want to give it up.

Oh, and will someone please find out where the warm weather is and tell it to hurry up..I am tired of freezing to death.
Wendi

 Good Morning Dave and Illinois!

Dave, I dont think I am brave enough to go mooning on the ice!  Too cold!

Dawn, my thoughts and prayers are with you during this tough week.  It will be a hard one.

Dee, my prayers are with you.

Wendy, I read about your company in the paper and cannot imagine having to deal with such a pay cut.  OUCH!

Christine, I hope you feel better fast.

Lori, I hope your recovery goes smoothly and that the soreness goes away quickly.

Ilse, I am sorry about you and your hubby's work situations.  That is really hard.

Today, I am at home, spending bookoo bucks in purchasing a furnace.  The only good thing in this deal is that there is a tax write off this year for furnaces so I should be able to deduct about half the cost.  What a way to start the week.

Hope everyone has a great week!
