Has Anyone here heard of tortuous esophagus???
Oh boy. I am sorry you are facing this. Maybe they can find a way to dilate your esophagus a bit without taking off your band. Or maybe you can just keep your band at a lighter fill?
Your overall health is the most important thing, so if the weight loss tool you are using has to go, then maybe it's for the best at this time. Maybe you have "learned" some things about you and food since you had the Lap Band and you can be successful without it, weight-wise. You can always try another procedure down the line, if need be. My prayers are going out to you. Please keep us posted.

I had the kick-butt duodenal switch (DS)!
HW: 344 lbs CW: 150 lbs
Type 2 diabetes and sleep apnea GONE!
she did not convert to the rny yet. she is still loosing weight without the band. She was allergic to the material the band was made out of and the band eroded her esophagus and her stomach and cause scar tissue and she has a small pouch without being converted . she may do it in the future though if she starts to gain.
