I have had a pain in my upper right side over my ribs. I had this same pain last summer, my PCP said it was nothing and it went away. But that last 4 days its back :( Its a dull almost burning pain. And yes I told my surgeon. I am having an ultrasound on Thursday. I'm a bit of a hyper chondriac so I'm real worried. Worried its serious, worried I wont be able to have surgery. Uggghhhhhh

Okay, none of us are clinicians here except the few here that are a nurse and there a couple that post and or are lurkers. We really cannot diagnose you, only your doc can. Let your doc, who is great nail down what is going on with you. I really think that you are worrying about nothing here.

ps -  sounds to me like it is gall bladder. Take it from someone that knows. I let my gall bladder go (1991) until I had advanced gall bladder disease. I developed pancreatitis and landed in the hospital for 117 days with 6 weeks of that being in ICU and 17 surgeries later I am alive to tell you about it. Papa and Baby Kane saved my life. Your surgeon and PCP will take care of it. Dr Wallace, your doc is part of the Kane Group and that doc that is under Jimmy Kane, who saved my life.

I tried to post a few minutes ago but for some reason, the reply is not showing up.  So, this may be a duplicate.. I don't know.  If it is your gallbladder, they may be able to remove at the same time as your wls.  I hope you get answers quickly.

Keep us posted

I had the same pain before my RNY and it turned out to be my gallbladder, but let Dr. Wallace diagnose you, you are in good hands!
