Hair loss....IM SCARED!!
I got advice to keep my protein up near 100 grams for the first yr. I did this until about the 5 or 6 month and when I started cutting back my hair started to thin...so I went right back to drinking my protein drinks and it stopped.
I wish u all the best. FYI..when my hair grew back it grew in slightly curly...which is was board straight before my surgery. I like my hair much better now if that helps you any...

Really it should be a minor worry for you. Getting healthy with the weight loss should be foremost in your mind. My hair thinned a lot because I could not get all my protein in. Just keep in mind that it will grow back. There are going to be other factors to consider and that is how your body is going to react to the surgery. It is a big shock to the system. The anesthesia plays a big roll in it also.
Maintaining consistent levels of protein is your biggest aid in fighting the hair loss. Your hair and nails are protein and it needs protein to maintain its health, just as your internal organs and muscle structure needs a healthy balance of nutrients. If you feel that you need to assist your body with trying to stop the hair loss then look into different hair products that nouri**** I think one of them is called Nexium. And then take biotin.

I worried some about this because I already have really thin hair on the top of my head. My surgeon told me to make sure I got my protein in -- at least 100 g a day. I did that plus take biotin and except for some very slight thinning, I did not lose any hair. I lost considerable hair when I had my gallbladder out so was relieved to have such minor loss this time around. I did buy a wig which I wear for those "bad hair days" which is more of a convenience than anything!

Most everyone will have some hair loss. As one person said, make sure you get a lot of protein. Also, take a prenatal vitamin (get a pill splitter - because they're usually pretty big). And lastly, it is only temporary. Once the hair loss stops, most people notice their hair is even thicker than before the surgery. Best wishes to you!
