update on daily herald weight loss challenge

so, i have an update for ya'll on the weight loss challenge i had told you about.  first, the trainers sent me to a holistic doctor they refer to.  it was to get my basic composition (water %, fat%, muscle %..etc).  well i found out my cholesterol is 100 (he went onto a speech about how thats actually bad), my blood sugar was 50 (after 12 hours of nothing to eat, they should be glad it even registered!!), well, the put the heart rate, blood oxygen monitor thingy on my finger.  every time i opened my big mouth to talk, my heart rate would jump up 30 beats.  being a holistic dr (and in his words, "not a general practitioner, but a nutritionist") he refused to clear me for the challenge without me visiting a cardiologist.  in case you couldn't tell, i don't have much faith in holistic medicine.  if thats your way, i hope i don't offend you...just my personal belief!

thankfully, my mom works for cardiologists so they were able to get me in that day.  they hooked me up to a 24 hour heart monitor/recorder.  got the results the day after and everything was fine!  dr said yes, my heart skips around alot, but its all within normal limits so he wasn't concerned.

enter to monday!  training was going to start the next day for me.  i get this funny feeling that something just isn't right.  on a whim, bought a pregnancy test from target and too bad i didn't take a picture of the 100% stunned look on my face when it came back positive!!!!!

of course, emailled the trainers and reporter to let them know of the latest 'development'.  i expressed my wishes to continue the competition but i wouldn't be able to lose the weight i originally wanted.  it would be much more to get in the best shape as possible and that i believed my OB would be completely on board.  well, that was the last i heard from them.  *sigh*

the story came out in the paper this week and i was replaced.  i knew it was going to happen but still a HUGE bummer!  i suppose there is always next year if they do it again.

so, thats my LONG WINDED news!!  lol  i'm out of the competition, but expecting baby #4!!!  i'm still on my elliptical daily so hopefully, i won't gain much with this pregnancy so that i can get my focus back after its born.  hope everyone has a great day!!!

Christie Congrats on you new baby,

Success begins with wise choices I make,I will not let noncompliance be my mistake, The surgery I had was to assist me in changes. My compliance is for a success long range, So I will think before I decide to cheat. Remember the goals I want to meet. For this surgery is not something I was force to do It was what I wanted for a healthy life!

Congratulations!!!  I say a baby is a much greater reward than any competition could give you!  lol  of course that's coming from someone who LOVED being pregnant and even the deliveries...though I had problems both times!
Please keep us updated on how you're doing since we will all be honorary aunties and uncles!!!  yay!
