Success begins with wise choices I make,I will not let noncompliance be my mistake, The surgery I had was to assist me in changes. My compliance is for a success long range, So I will think before I decide to cheat. Remember the goals I want to meet. For this surgery is not something I was force to do It was what I wanted for a healthy life!
Yesterday, I spent shopping with my DDs in Geneva. Als ogo in a lot of walking. It was a great day. Then I came home to watch the Nascar Shootout. I am so happy that Nascar is back on.
Today, just mucking around the house. Maybe grilling chicken for dinner, It will depend if DH wants to fire up the grill.
Janet, I too am looking forward to the Meet and Greet. It will be nice to see everyone again. I hope your sister is doing better today. What did they find with the Cath?
Stay safe, stay warm, stay sane,
Huggers,
Lisa
Went to mom's house yesterday.
I always have so much fun driving out there. Its like 2.5 hours driving 60-65 on the tollway, but I always see how fast I can make it. I caught myself going 110 last night swerving through traffic following some guy in a Lexus. Its like a game....get going as fast as you can and see if you can make it through the groups of cars. I have been thinking about buying a Vette, but I am afraid I will kill myself screwing around in traffic at 150mph. I drove a truck in Chicago for about 20 years. I like driving in traffic. I can look at people, stick my tongue out at kids, etc...
Anyway, I made it to mom's in about an hour and 30 minutes. I made it home in about an hour and 10 minutes. WOO HOO almost beat the record of right at an hour. (It was about 3 AM on a Christmas morning no one was on the road)
Anyway, Church today in about an hour. (I have to repent for the speeding)
And later today about 2 I have a meeting with a bunch of guys in black cars with crooked noses, about Union stuff.
Thats about it.
See ya
God Bless
Dave

Edited with the correct mile info for speeding tickets, 020909 0815am
you may want to slow down, i was told if you are caught going 30 miles over the speed limit - its automatic ticket to Jail.
I know late at night you could usually see the police cars and slow down in time. But just in case...
take care,
Cathy I am not really sure who told you that you can get an "automatic ticket to jail" with a speeding ticket. 30 miles over the limit is not a jail able offense; 31+ miles over the limit is a must appear in traffic court, per state statute. It is a traffic offense only for both. It is a $95 fine (21-30) and $75 for under that) and 31+ over the limit is a $105 fine there are fines over that but I do not have my cheat sheet book to look up the fines at this moment. There aren't any jail able traffic offenses unless you are involved in a DUI and have had a prior DUI in combo with driving on a suspended or revoked drivers license (while DUI) or an aggravated DUI charge. Traffic offenses for the most part are considered petty offenses and they cannot house you in jail for that. Just wanted to set the facts straight. If I have my MPH slightly wrong I will come in tomorrow morning and quote my fine book from at work. It is 31+, but I do not write the tickets, just process them to court.

And Dave yes you need to slow down because a conviction follows you for 3 years and insurance companies and employers can get your driving abstract (and they do).

Thanks for the information Christine. I must have been told wrong. I was told that 30 + miles over the 55 mile per hour speed limit was considered "reckless driving" and could land someone in jail.
Again sorry for any problem with my comments. Thank you for setting me straight.
Take care on the roads everyone.

Nope, there are other criteria that goes into Reckless Driving. And Reckless Driving is a class A misdemeanor and also not a jail able offense. It carries a $2,000 (10%) fine, therefore you either get an I-bond or have to come up with $200 and of course a day in house court, not traffic court and other days in court after you make your plea at your arraingment hearing.

Actually I did get a reckless driving ticket for going (I think) 60mph over the speed limit.
It was about 18 or so years ago. I think I paid a family lawyer $100. He reduced it to speeding and it cost me another $100 or something.
I can't remember the speed exactly, but it was on I-80/94 on the south side of the city.
I like to go fast sometimes. I turn on a good CD and cruise.
I lived in Marengo and worked in Batavia. I drove over 100 daily on my way to and from work in the country, and never even saw a police car in about 6-7 years of driving that route. Actually going 100 on most of the Chicago highways is about normal. Especially in the middle of the night.
I live here in Sycamore/ Dekalb now, I work here, and go to school here, so I don't get the chance to run like I enjoy doing.
I haven't gotten a ticket in probably 15 years or so, and have never had an accident that was my fault. As a garbageman I got hit in the rear end about once every 3-6 months. Something about a 8 foot tall 11 foot wide bright yellow warning sign with flashing lights that makes people not see you. I hate to say it (for fear for my life) but I wa**** about 12-15 times over the years, and I was only hit by one man. He was a Hispanic man that took off after he hit me and was never caught. I even had a woman run her Probe all the way under my truck. She hit me about 45 mph. They cut the car in half to get her out. She made it though. She sued too. She said the flashing lights weren't bright enough or something. The company gave her $5000 to go away. So if you ever hit a garbage truck sue them. If its your fault or not.

Hope Jims sister is doing much better, will say a prayer dor her.
Glad Jims doing better after his surgery.
Dave you be careful trying to beat your best times. You'll go to jail, get a ticket or worse yet die from a bad booboo.
Now I need to add my prayer request, my cousin is very ill. The doc are not sure what it is. He went traveling abroad in Peru. He has been home for a couple weeks and has been getting weeker and weeker. His body has ballooned up he looks like hes about to give birth to 12 babbies. They removed his colon Friday to see if he gets relief. If this works it should help heal the intestins. Right now its touch and go, my uncle will appreiciate all the prayers this is all the family he has. His wife passed away a few yrs back. This is the last of his children alive.
Thank You
Karen
