Good For! I am still waiting for my consultation. What kind of surgery did you have? I think I will be having lap band surgery. What part of Idaho do you live in? I live in Post Falls near Coeur D' Alene. Who is your Dr.? Blessings, Annie Walker AKA: Needsamiracle

I can only go to a doctor who will accept Medicare. That's all the money I have. No self-pay for me. Also, Medicare won't approve VSG, so I guess it's Doctor Pennings or nothing. I appreciate the reply. Jo

Topic: RE: Anyone go to Mexico, Dr. Aceves to be exact? How did it go?
Hi Juli; Oh my gosh, I can't believe what an awesome experience I had in Mexico. I had Dr. Alvarez, do my surgery, in Piedras Negras,MX. It was totally awesome. Go into the forum and read my blog. Piedras Negras is 220,000 poplulation and a very clean place. Dr. Alvarez is such an awesome dr. very compassionate. I too was a self pay, flew down to San Antonio, his driver picked us up, I had surgery and in 3 days was back home. It was great to say the least. Dr. Alvarez has 0% leakage and 0% patients return for any reason. That is why I chose him, and he just happened to be in Mexico. I had no problem about Mexico. You got to go where the best dr.'s are, and he is the best I've found in 5 months of research. So I went and don't regret a darn thing. If I can help you with any questions, let me know. I am now coordinating for Dr. Alvarez. I decided he was such a neat dr. I would love to work with him if I could, so now I get that opportunity and I have fun talking about my VSG and my experience. His website is www.endobariatric.com you can view his credentals and the entire bit on there. If I can help you in any way, let me know. My name is Betty. I live in Buhl, Idaho, southern Idaho. hope some of this helps. Betty [email protected]

I researched for 5 months on WLS and I find there is a lot of dr.'s around like SLC (salt lake city), but I know of none in southern Idaho. have you checked into the VSG? Vertical Sleeve Gasterectomy? To find out about that surgery, go to www.endobariatric.com and go into VSG. Most dr.'s are now recommening going the VSG cause it is just as successful as the RNY or any of the other bypasses. With the VSG, you don't have to worry about malabsorption, nor dumping. You eat 3 to 4 oz. at a time and it is a medium invasive surgery done all laproscopically. 45 minutes surgery. On this site is Dr. Alvarez. He has done over 330 surgeries of the VSG and has 0% leakage and 0% return of any patients for any problems. He is an awesome dr. everyone one who goes to see him, just love him. You can email him as well on the front of his site I gave you above. Idon't know how much you weigh, how much you want to loose, but you should take a little further step in researching the VSG. My insurance didn't pay a dime, I self paid and put it on a credit card. I flew to Piedras Negras, MX where Dr. Alvarez is and was home 3 days later. The VSG is the most popular WLS to date, just wanted you to have a little bit of more info. You can email me at [email protected] and ask any questions you like. I can also help with questions as well. I coordinate for Dr. Alvarez so I can be in touch with him if I need to for answers I may not have. good luck, Betty [email protected]

Hi lori im thinking about you I read your March 30th entry and you sounded kind of worried. I take it your doing the bypass and not the lap band? I to am just in the waiting line just attended my first simenar on the 27th and got my paper work faxed to dr pennings today. I am hopeing for the lapband. Do you know if the lapbander have to loose ten percent of their weight also? I have had such an awfull time since I had my hysterectomy 3 years ago. I just cant seam to take it off the way I used to. I will say a big prayer for you and im thinking they have this surgery figured out and yes in my opinion there cant be much worse than trying to be normal and fit in and have the energy to live how you would like to be liveing, when you have no energy and your joints always hurt your clothes wont fit and the ones that do look like your wearing a tent, when you dont want to go any where because you feel like every one is noticeing how fat you are you are panting and sweating bla bla bla .... Its a chance to change and prolong your life God bless you you go girl let me know how you are doing
