I'm working with the same group but still waiting for insurance approval.  I'm not to the liquid diet part yet but when I met with the nutritionist I received a packet that listed items to eat/drink on the liquid diet.  Check your materials or call the office to talk with the nutritionist for more suggestions.

Good luck - I'm hoping to be there soon!

Once you are qualified for the surgery it is a go. The pre surgery diet is so your liver will shrink and will not be in the way for surgery.

I'm on my liquid diet and am doing good.  I don't think I'm getting enough Protein in but I'm just not hungry.  Any suggestions?

 Hi All,

New to this...I have questions.  According to my insurance. I currently qualify for WLS.  I've spoke with them and know that it would be a go because my BMI is over 35 with a comorbidity.  However it is my understanding that when you go in for your initial appointments, you are placed on a diet, then 2 week prior to surgery you are on a liquid diet.  Obviously, I would lose weight and possibly fall below the 35 BMI.  So even though I qualified for the surgery at the beginning of my journey it's possible on the day of the surgery my BMI could be below 35.  Would they say "Sorry today you no longer qualify.  Go home".  ??  TIA

I've known quite a few in our community - and they have shaped up very nicely.

My teenage son did the youth program last summer.   Hubby is registered for fall.

Any one here done this?  I am interested, but wanted to know if it is truly worth the time and money, since fall classes are starting soon.  Also, has anyone given though to the DSM Marathon?  It starts with a 5k and also had a half marathon and those brave enough a full marathon.
