Hello Everyone
Hiya,
Hope everyone is doing well, here I am 3 weeks post-op and my jeans are a hangin' that is great news. Still haven't weighed myself, I go for the 1 month research hospital stay on Monday 8/1 so it will be nice to see how much I have lost and to see the difference in the diabetes thing, I am so glad that I dont have to inject anymore, bs havent been above 115, and that is from testing after eating. Still trying to get the energy up, I see my doc at the same time so we will see about that B-12, I have been drinking tons of water, dont have a taste for much of anything else, I have fallen in love with Smoothie King, I get this Strawberry Shredder smoothie(extra smooth), it has 31g of protein and then have them add another 2 scoops for an additional 10g, I make it last all day (its 20oz and I will drink about 2-3oz at a time) and it sits really well with the pouch, and then I back that up with an egg or some yogurt. I have to admit the diet is getting kinda boring, would like any ideas on jazzing it up. Talk to ya'll later

Erica, pardon my nosiness, but are you having to be admitted to the hospital? What kind of research? Tell me to mind my own business if you don't want to say. Sounds like you're doing great! Wish I could even get on a pair of jeans, much less have them hang on me. LOL! By the way, the smoothie sounds yummie.

Hi Barb,
Your not nosey, lol, I love telling people about my journey. The research my doc is working on has to do with being over weight and having diabetes, the st time I was there they got the baseline, basically did a glucose tolerance test on steriods to see why I have diabetes and then check things like muscle to fat ratio. The first time, I found out that my pancreus(sp?) was not working very well, lol, guess you could say it was stuck on stupid also found out that my muscle to fat ratio wasnt as bad as I thought 40% muscle which is tons better then i expecting. So how is your journey going? And if you get a chance try the smoothie, its $6 but worth it
HUGS

It is nice to see that your doctor is doing that research, Erica. Every bit helps in the fight against this epidemic. I feel that it also strengthens the stance that this is a serious health issue, not a cosmetic problem. I hope you will continue to share what info you glean from him. It's wonderful to look back over my lifetime and remember the miracle of the polio vacines and so many other medical breakthroughs that are now things we take for granted. Life is exciting, isn't it?
