I called BC Friday and after quite some time on hold the lady came back and told me she spoke to her supervisor AND her supervisors supervisor and 'Sorry but we will not pay for gastric surgery regardless of the procedure OR reason for it, bariatric or any other type (which we KNEW wouldn't be but gastric was supposed to be) I sat here most of the day and cried. Then about 4:30PM the phone rang. I told hubby I WAS NOT talking to anyone so he answered it. It was Sonya from Emory and he didn't even recognize her voice (we have both spoke to her SEVERAL TIMES on the phone). She called to let us know that DR Smith needs me to come in to meet with him (guess I FINALLY get to meet him). He needs to go over all my tests and do a physical exam and make sure I am physically fit for surgery. From what she told hubby when we go in he will give me a date OR admit me for emergency surgery from what she told hubby. I know she wasn't going to contact us unless and until they got a 100% confirmation from BC that they would get paid for whatever they do to me and with getting word from them they wouldn't pay for it. I don't know who did or said what between my callin BC at 8AM and her calling us at 4 but I told hubby I'm not even gonna think about asking any questions, I'm gonna go in, get it done and hopefully get healthy again. So we are set for Thursday Aug 4th at 9:45AM but planning on getting there about 9 so we can get something, anything over with. I'm going to try and post between now and then but our son is beginning his senior year at Pepperell on Aug 1st so things may get crazy this week. If you don't hear from me by the 6th feel free to check with Emory and see if I am there, LOL. Huggs -- Lisa

Bless your heart, Lisa, you have had one h*** of a time! Go on in there and forget what BC said. They can fight it out, later. The important thing is that you start back on the road to good health. We will all be praying for a smooth and successful surgery. Hopefully, you and your son are both entering a wonderful stage of life. Good luck, Barb in S. GA

You have such a positive attitude~! I cannot begin to imagine what feelings you are experiencing now. If you end up having to self pay, I can throw you the info of a doctor (not local) who does very affordable gastric surgeries here in the states. Kia 284/203/155
