Which protein bars taste good? I don't want to dump when I eat one.

I looked over the scads of protein bars. I have no idea which one to try. I saw one that had lots of sugar in it. Can you all recommend one that I could try without dumping? Which ones do you purchase. How do you incorporate these in your days intake of food. I would like to add these to my diet for extra protein. Thanks for your help. I am almost 5 weeks post op. Sincerely, LMW

I strongly recommend the power crunch bars that are advertised on this site. They are not high in sugar and they have 14g of protein per serving. They taste fantastic too!!!

I like the detour and oneway (pnut butter) bars. I had seen a post about how the detour was like a snickers (not) but I do like it. They also have a uturn (carmel) and a joyride (coconut) which are ok. I get them at Walmart for .96 each. They have 6 grams olf sugar and 15 grams of protein. I would use them as my mid morning/afternoon snack (1/2 bar) but now I can eat the whole bar. Hope this helps. Marie post op, 12/02/03 lap rny, Dr Hart 539/382/250

This is one that even though I have a big chunk of post op under my belt I don't know about but it does let me ask everyone on the same note of protein products ... which protein drinks have a decent taste? First time around I never had to do the drinks, I went from liquids to baby food to very soft to regular food. Amazing what twelve years will do huh! In between finding out about the defects I have and gettin to the dietitian hubby brought me a boat load of Gerber First Foods remembering all my tales of my first post op. Even though I know that I will be on a feeding tube for a couple months and a colostomy up to six months I am going to go ahead and use them. Goodness knows we aren't havin any more kids and no one I know will either. LOL. But seriously, if anyone can give me their opinions about the drinks I'd REALLY appreciate it

I also recommend the Power Crunch bars. I like the Triple Chocolate and the Chocolate Peanut butter. The other ones that are coated in white were way to sweet. ~Bonnie
