I saw this on the news (ABC) yesterday and if the study is only based on 6 people.....what about the REST of us? The majority of people didn't have the same symptoms these people had - and the HAVE done further research to prove that. Do these types of things happen? CERTAINLY. Are there risks? DEFINATELY Should you have continual follow up care? MOST DEFINATELY! These are all things that we should do as pre-op to research. We should also continue to research the changes in this surgery as post-ops too.

Of course this is not statisticly significant....and nobody said that WLS is a magic wand....or a cure for everything.... nothing is 100% safe...Nothing... but we have to measure potential chances of developing complications from this surgery (this particular one or others) against chances of suffering from problems related to MO.... just weigh one aginst the other.... right? ... l
