HOW MUCH TIME FROM WORK DID YOU MISS
the time you need to take should be between you and your surgeon. Everyone heals at a different rate so that determination is a factor, plus it depends on the type of work you do. If you do any type of lifting that may restrict your capabilities because I wasn't allowed to lift anything for the first three weeks - then nothing over 25 lbs for three more weeks after that.
I had "small" open RNY (my incision was 3") and went back to work at 3 weeks. I work a desk job where I sit most of the day (except to go to the printers...)
CONGRATS on your date!!!! Take all the time you want to get back in the game....you'll have a LONG life ahead of you to live it!!!

I had my RNY done Laprascopically, and I was back to work in 2 weeks. Mine is also a sit down job, with very little lifting. I did fine... I was able to drive 6 days post-op after my drain was pulled.
I had a friend who had her surgery done open, and ewnt back to work at a sit down job at one week post-op. We all tried to talk her out of going back so soon, but to no avail. I think she realized one week was too soon, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do....

I sit on my butt all day (I'm a webmaster) and I basically was back full time in 2 weeks. I worked half time from home after a week.
Of course, I was dragging sometimes, but it went by quick.
I had a co worker that had it 2 years ago and she was out a month.
My director of HR just had it and the crazy lady was back after 5 days. SHe leaves early (as directors can) once in a while when she is run down.
Best of luck.
