Hi Barb! First Patient? Move on dear sister. Come to Atlanta, there are a lot of wonderful doctor's here. I would recommend them as follows..... Daly, Hart, Lin, Khatain, Appel and in NOo order, just some that I am very familiar with. I lived in Macon most of my life and I have to say I do not miss it much but, my family is still there off of Wimbish Road in that area. Good luck and if I can help you in anyway just lease let me know. Blessings to ya dear!! Crece

Hi Crece, I'm looking for a primary care doc, not a weight loss surgeon. I've already had my surgery up in Atlanta but am finding that my present family doctor doesn't know anything about treating a post op. I just would like to find a doctor who has had other patients who have had gastric bypass. Thanks for replying, let me know if you know a good primary care physician down my way. God's blessings to you

I know just how you feel Barb My primary care doc and I are learning together too lol. I feel that is ok as long as I do not develop any complications, but that is just my take on things. Kia 284/209/155 ish

Hey Miss Kara, I just got done checking out your updated profile... you always make me giggle but I am still waiting for that picture of Steve jumping in the pool from the trampoline! I used to really like my doc, a younger man with hardly no waiting time but lately I just don't feel he spends enough time on us. He's up at Northside in Macon which is a 30 minute drive for us. Maybe his practice has taken off and he's turned into one of ''them! Just thought if I could find a doc closer to home who had more experience with WLS I could get the same quality of care. Keep up your good work Kara. You have such an infallable spirit, I sure hope its contagious! love, Barb

Barb I am throwing Kudos right back at you! Each time you reply to one of my posts you leave me with a smile I too am watiing for hubby to do his famous trampoline pool leap - so far all he has done is swim some mini laps and float around lol. I agree with your gut feeling about your doctor. If you don't feel he/she is honestly concerned with your health find another! So far, my doc (PA on base) makes me feel as if needed, he would spend all day with me to make sure I was healthy. Heck he remembers the tiniest details of my life from prior chats and asks me how things are, etc. Can you tell I really like this doctor? lol. Perhaps at the next meeting you can ask around to find a caring local doctor Kia

Hey Barb, Give Marilyn Williams a try. She is a Nurse Practitioner and she works under Dr. Taube in Warner Robins. She has been my PCP for years. She is the one who got me started on this journey of WLS. She has many patients who have WLS surgery in the past. Her number is 953-1800 and her address is 200 S. Houston Lake Rd. She is very good and is a good Christian woman. Give her a try. How are you doing? I don't go to the Psych until 19 July. Are you eating any better yet? Do you feel human yet? Talk to later and God bless you. Ken

Hi Ken, I was just wondering about you this morning. Thank you for the referal, I am going to give them a call. I have gone back to square one with my eating, which means broth and yogurt and sf popsicles I called my surgeon, his office girl said I am not eating often enough. I need to get something in my stomach every 2 hours. And I am back to the liguid stage. (phase 2 and I should be on stage 4!). I reckon I'm a slow healer. She told me I shouldn't even be having cream soup! Their directions are completely different from my dieticians so why do they even make you see a dietician??? It is frustrating. I feel a bit more human...lol... but definately from another race (other than the human race that is!). I wonder if you could see another psych. I imagine probably not at this stage. But you can't help but wonder if another one would give you the same results, ya know? I am still comforted by God, I loved the emails you sent me, they came just when I needed them. And I just love Joel btw! Thank you for thinking of me, and always for your prayers. Talk to you soon and may God Bless you, Barb Hey Ken, how old is your son (you have just the one?) I was thinking if he is close to my daughters age we could sit them in a corner with some coloring books and crayons and just bring them to the support group. That way we don't have to miss it.

Hi Barb You could use my doctor... then there'd be two WLS patients he has... hehehe I don't have a problem with using him still... I just let him know my specific WLS requirements... no problem...

hehe Marc, now that might not be a bad idea! I still have to see my doc for high bp and thyroid desease. He was like totally clueless about what pills I could swallow and if there is a bp med in liquid form. I sometimes feel totally lost and he only compounded it. Did your surgeon tell you what labs need to be done so you can get them done through your PCP? How's your energy level these days? I feel so drained all the time I have to force myself to walk and I'm actually walking less now than when I first came home sigh
