Approved! I just wanted to share the good news!

Hey all, I just needed to share the good news with someone.  (My DH is in a meeting so I have to wait to tell him the good news.) I feel excited, scared, relieved etc.  Excited about finally loosing all this weight, scared about going under the knife and relieved my insurance approved it.   I know this sounds crazy but I have an overwhelming desire to organized my closets in an effort to get ready..... is that normal??

 

Congratulations on your approval. Everything you said you are feeling is perfectly normal. Before surgery, we want to have as much normalcy as we can, and if that means taking care of cleaning closets, buying groceries, etc.. we all go through this phase. It is also normal to be excited,scared and relieved all at the same time..  Like I said, Congratulations on your approval and soon to be a loser.  You are in my thoughts and prayers as you face your surgery. Organize away!  Congrats on the approval.  Just for your info, I've found the GA board isn't very active.  I still visit sometimes but depending on the surgery, you may want to check out that board instead.  There are lots of supportive people.  Once you have the surgery and right before you'll probably have questions you want answers to right away.  On the other boards someone almost always replies within an hour, here it can be days. I remember feeling the exact same way...my surgery is actually 10/30...so it wasn't that long ago I got that call.  The emotions are so mixed on one hand it all becomes 'real' and you're going to really do this...on the other it's like....wow I'm going to have surgery and I'm scared! Good luck and take it slow....when you get caught up in the whirlwind do not forget to breath...

Congrats on your approval!  You have a great surgeon
