Revision Doctor in Georgia who accepts Medicaid
I have searched and searched for a doctor. I just made reservations to go to Chicago. I found out that you can not take medicaid out of the state. I am depressed and I need a doctor. I called one group who would accept it (Emory Bariaitrics) and they said because they did I could have an appointment in October of 2007. I won't even have the insurance then. Please don't give me Dr. Duncan. That is how my surgery was messed up.
Help me Please.
Well, here is my story. I had surgery more than two years ago. I lost weight for about two months. I did everything. I was even told I wasn't eating enough and then I was told boiled turkey necks were fattening. (which they aren't). I was told because of my miscarriages that my anistomisis ( really mispelled was too open). Dr. Duncan saw me and told me I probably tried to force a big lump of bread down. dr. Duncan does not do revisions. I stayed with vitalady so of course I did my shakes. I walked and ran and nothing changed.
I have flown to Chicago and Illinois and BCBS has stopped accepting the surgery period. I knew they didn't except first time bypass surgeries but in my packet it says they cover revisions and they don't. I hired a lawyer but nothing has happen. The two docs I seen when looking at my weight chart says all is not right. I had a barium study done two months ago and the doc asked me "didn't you say you had gastric bypass". I got down to 189. I started out at 222. I am back up. I have been scope and I was told they could see straight down in my intestines. (very open). I am really unhappy. I am back up over 200lbs. I never made it. It is more than ten of us that have this same story. I need to be changed back to 15cc and made more distal.
His office had been telling me more than a year to try new things. I had to beg for a scope test a year and half later.
What happened dear?? I hope you are okay. I hope you find a doc to help you soon. I am currently waiting on a consultation with Dr Duncan. I have heard that he is one of the best in Atlanta. So what happened with your surgery? I really wanted Dr Champion but he wont take Medicare so I had to go with Dr Duncan. It is extremely hard to find a doc anywhere who will do open RNY and also will take Medicare. I have been told that Dr Duncan will not do "open" sugeries but at least I hope he can refer me to someone who does. I dont understand why a doc should help one type of patient and not the other. Maybe the complications or something??? I dont know but it is frustrating to try and find someone to help when you are at a dead end all the time so I do feel for you. I wish you the very best of luck.......See you later........Renee
