Yesteday was the big day. I had my lapband and had planned to go back to work today. But I couldn't. I was just too weak. I don't have hardly any pain from the surgery just weak. I'm also afraid to drink too much. I want to, I'm thristy, but am afraid of getting nauseated. I'm an official loser now!

Congrats Lynn! I was banded 3 weeks ago yesterday. There is no way I could have gone back to wor****il 5 days at the very least! Luckily I was able to take three weeks off. Yesterday was my first day back and I was pretty wiped out at the end of the day, Just because I was used to not working all day probably. Take is easy if you can and good luck on your journey! If I can answer any questions on the first few weeks just ask. Phyllis

Hello Lynn, On July 27, 2006 I had a total gastric bypass, and I went back to work full time on August 09,2006. I was still a little sore but everyone on my job was wonderful. It's now been 2 months and I'm down 63 pounds and feeling great. I wish you the best on you NEW JOURNEY.,

Thank you all for your support. I read all of your profiles. Phyllis...you wrote something that's exactly how I'm feeling now tonight. I'm not hungry but I want to EAT! I want a piece of fried chicken! I did eat( drink) some pureed Campbells steak soup and it was soooo good. I need to get more protein in too cause I'm so weak. I had my hubby go by and get me some Isopure this afternoon. I HAVE to get up and get moving tom. though. I have an important meeting at 9:00 on Friday morning. I have to go in for it but can leave if I need to afterwards. Also...for some reason...my left butt cheek is so sore! Strange!! It hurts more than the incisions. What could that be? Anyway... thanks for the support and I'll be back. Lynn

Hey Lynn, The butt cheek thing is a mystery to me, NO CLUE! Maybe you were misbehaving in the OR and they smacked you! I had very high front sholder pain for a week or so but I think it was gas, It really wasn't pain, just more sore. Some said it may be gas. Once you get past the liquid stage you will feel so much better. Try to get plenty of protein. I drink an Extreme Smoothie can drink every morning and it gets me through to lunch. I also drank an awful lot of the Isopure bottled drinks during my liquid stage. Protein is the key to feeling better and having more energy. Let me know how that butt cheek thing goes!

HI all! Phyllis, the butt cheek is getting better. I think it may be the way I laid on the OR table or something. It was funny cause that night I dreamed that people were asking what was wrong with me ( No one knows about my surgery except for hubby)and I was telling them that I had had back surgery and I guess I was in and out of it cause when I awoke my butt was hurting so much and for a minute or so...I was thinking that I HAD had back surgery! Or it may be that gas settled there. HMMMM...don't know but it's better. I think I did something bad this morning! I ate some soupy grits. They stayed down and it actually gave me a little energy. I have some Isopure, the grape and blue raspberry. I hate the grape...no more of it. BTW....Phyllis...my hubby and son are working in Phenix City this weekend. They just left a couple of hours ago. He's a technician that works on all these really tall, tall towers around everywhere. My younger son just had knee surgery there at your new hospital 2 weeks ago too. That's a REALLY NICE hospital! Keep me posted and I'll do the same. Lynn
