I'M HOME!!!
So I made it home today... It was so good to get out of the hospital. Everything went well with my surgery (9/26/06) and I had no leaks! Wow, that magic potion they make you drink before they check for leaks was NASTY!!!!
I was so excited to go to the 1st Henry County Support Group and then I found out my surgery was on the same day so I cannot wait to see all you Southsiders at the next one.
So excited to start on this journey. I cannot wait for the weight to begin falling off!
Thanks for the post Stephanie... So far, so good. I cannot wait until our first meeting. Not to be an idiot or anything, but what are the rules for a support group. Is it just me or are children allowed or is it easier if they aren't? Just trying to decide what type of arrangements I need to make as my husband works at night.
Thanks!
Hi Kristi......it's Bonnie from Warner Robins! I'm the one that had my surgery on the same day as you. I literally just got home (3:00) Had to wait for an ultra sound. My calves were so sore and he wanted to make sure all was ok with no blood clotting. All was well, but it slowed us down. Hope you remember meeting me in the office on Monday and then waiting for that wonderful potion before checking for leaks. Will probably take me a little longer to recoop because I'm 59.
Wow, it is sooooo hard for me to drink slowly! I'm a gulper. Right now I am nursing some sugar-free jello.
Please keep in touch and remember....come on down to the Mini Mees group if you would like. I know I would love to see you because we shared this experience together. Flint Energies....Exit #142 on Highway 96 (Housers Mill Rd). Go toward town and it's on the right just past the Houston County High School.
Well, my husband has taken off for my Percoset. Y'all have a great day and night!
Bonnie... I sent the below via email but I wasn't sure if your SPAM filter would allow it or not. Would love to keep in touch via email. See original message below:
"I am so glad you emailed me... I wasn't sure what room you were in and I didn't want to just start knocking on doors, but I wanted to stay in touch with you...It gives us an instant camaraderie sharing everything from the same day.
I hate that your legs were so sore but I am glad everything turned about to be ok and that you got to go home. My husband and I headed out about 9:30 a.m. and I was ready to go!
Aren't you so excited? I weighed today and had already lost 8 lbs. I haven't seen the scale go down like that in a long, long time!
I have to say that I have worried myself though because I have been able to drink the 3 protein shakes a day as required and haven't had any trouble. I hope that doesn't mean that my pouch is bigger than it should be!!! AGGHH!!! I am sure that I am just worrying myself but it has been such smooth sailing for me so far, I keep waiting for something to go wrong!
I know where your meetings are as I have family that lives right off of 96 and I used to live in Byron so I kind of know that area but I missed the days of your meetings. Tell me again because I would love to pop in sometime!
Please keep emailing me of your progress. I would love to stay in touch. I have started a scrapbook already to document this weight loss. I have a pair of my "fat" pants that were really tight and I am going to keep taking my pictures in those to get a good idea of my progress. You know what else I thought about as extra motivation, when I get down to where I want to be I think I need to get a picture of me at my heaviest and a picture of my slim and get them laminated together to keep in my wallet as a reminder! What do you think?
Sorry for such a long email but I am really glad you emailed me. Think positive about your recovery! I am wishing you a speedy one. Eat a bite of Jello for me! LOL!"
