Hey, I am almost 6 mos out from surgery and I am down 96lbs. But the last 3 weeks I have kind of stalled out where I am. I have steped up the intensity of my exercise and the amount but it hasn't moved much at all. I haven't added anything different to my diet or increased any food either. I guess I am lookng for someone's story of their plateau and how they over came it. I know deep down that it will pass and I will lose more but it kind of gets me worried when you don't see any movement in 3 weeks. Thanks, Lee G.

Are you just weighing yourself? You may be surprised to find you are losing inches and not knowing it! I have had many stalls as well but a true plateau is no weight loss OR inches lost in a months time. Hang in there You seem to be ahead of the curve to me - check out this link: Here is a link to a little - known OH page which will roughly calculate where YOU are on your journey to a thinner you! http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/information/post+op+planner.php Go there and input your STARTING weight and height and it will calculate aproximately where you should be. This tool was SPOT on with me and I actually ended up 4 pounds lighter than it said when all was done. You can also figure out the % of weight you have lost so far as well! To do this you need to get a calculator and write down some numbers. You need your starting weight, the weight you are at right now and your goal weight. (for example my starting weight was 284 and my current weight is 152 and my goal is 150). Subtract your current weight from your starting weight. (in my case 284-152 = 132). This is your weight you have lost so far. Now, subtract your goal weight from your starting weight which will give you the total weight you want to lose (in my case 284-150 = 134) Now you just take your total weight you want to lose and divide that number by how much you have lost already to get the % of weight you have lost. You will be dividing the smaller number by the larger number assuming you have not already surpassed your goal! (my example is 132/134 = 0.9850746) Move the decimal place 2 places to the right to give you the %. (mine then = 98.5%) So that means I have lost 98.5% of my weight. Give it a try and see where you fit Kia

Kia, Thank you for your response. I have in-fact loss some inches. My 36 jeans are looser than they were 2 weeks ago. If this means I am still losing weight, so be it! I can live with that. Everything I have read says a true plateau will pass in time so, I will be a little more patient. Thank goodness for this site and everyone who contributes. C ya,
