Hi folks! I have been struggling with my eating the past year or so, and have been living in terror of gaining all this weight back. I started going to my surgeon's, (Dr. Richard's - Obesity Solutions) Back On Track Program, on the 30th of August. It has been a great program, and the gal running it, Amy Neece is awesome! I lost 1.5 pounds the first week, and get this....9.5 pounds the first week on the kickstart program!!! I am SOOOOOOOOOO happy!! (of course, I'd about give my right arm for some carbs...that's a big no no the first 2 wks of the kickstart ) I think I just might FINALLY get to my own personal goal. I can't believe it. Just wanted to share. Looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday!! Tami

Hi, congratulations on getting "back on track!" I'm getting scherotherapy treatments now, and it's helping some, but I wonder if you could share some of the basics of what you're doing?

Hi Steven, It's a class that teaches you to set goals (not only for eating if you choose to pursue that area)... it teaches you how to exchange the old habits that we reverted back to after surgery, to work back in the good habits we had during the honeymoon period right after surgery. It talks about the type exercise that is right for you, and you determine your resting heart rate, bmr, bmi, and target heart rate for exercise. Then we started a kickstart diet, which is VERY VERY restrictive the first two weeks. Imagine going back to your first couple of weeks after surgery, but with absolutely NO carbs, dairy, sugars, etc. We begin maintenance next week, and will slowly add back in other foods, but hopefully, will have gained enough strength and knowledge to not revert back to the old (presurgery) habits, that we brought back (post surgery). This particular class is done through my surgeons office, for his patients. To my knowledge, he only accepts his own patients, unless, perhaps someone has moved here from out of state and no longer has a local surgeon to handle his/her post operative care. There is a website, bariatricsupportcenter.com that offers the class online - there is a charge for the website. Hope that helped a little! Take care! Tami
