Support Group in Savannah

Hi, I'm Joni and normally on the Texas board. I live in Texas now but was born and raised in Savannah. I was home this weekend and several of my relatives asked me about my RNY. I have lost 104 lbs since my surgery 2/17/06. I gave them as much info as I could but I really think a support group is what they need. Can anyone tell me of one in Savannah or on Wilmington Island? I'd love to share the information. Thanks for you help. Joni

Dr. Peter Henderson and Dr. Harold Kent of Georgia Coast Surgical have a Savannah support group. They meet the first and third Thursday of each month at Windsor Forest Baptist Church at 12532 White Bluff Road. Bette Drecktrah is the group leader. You can reach her by email at [email protected], or by phone at 912-826-5434. They have RNY and LapBand members. The public is welcome. Support Group Meetings are for pre-op and post-op patients. Pre-op candidates are required to attend at least one support group meeting before surgery when they are patients of Georgia Coast Surgical. Post-op patients are encouraged to attend on a regular basis. I hope this is helpful. They are a great group of people.
